Attunements: Are you for or against them?

Classic is literally the only expansion when anyone did this. They didn’t do it in TBC. They didn’t do it in WOTLK either unless they were trying to get additional Valynyrs.

People did it in classic because itemisation was bad and previous tier still had BIS loot for a lot of classes. The same wasn’t true in TBC and WOTLK.

We were in sunwell and we cleared BT and Hyjal every week as well. We pugged SSC / TK, and we even had ppl interested in doing Kara every week in our guild.

So your synopsis is wrong.

So in other words you didn’t do it at all.

You continued to farm BT/Hyjal for gear so you could beat sunwell. But you didn’t raid SSC/TK as a guild. You “pugged” it. So yeah, you didn’t.

cmon man don’t you know? people gonna be running tempest keep every week for a chance at the sweet sweet Ashes of A’lar!

If it was part of the game at original release. Keep it in. I want to experience the real tbc.

100% pro attunements. You want to raid, you need to put in the time/ effort.

Attunements need to be in TBC for half the game to exist, honestly.

the classic guild i’m in, has this already figured out. every week, they re-run mc, bwl, onyxia, zul’gurub, with occassional aq20/40 runs, and naxx progression. they have set the precedent in the guild, of re-running older content, every week

WOAH RACIST

LOL

The point is there were still avenues for people to get attuned, even if it was a pug environment.

Do you even read what you type? You are the most obtuse person on these boards ive seen by far.

Only major problems with attunements is…

It created one of the WORST guild sniping cultures wow has ever seen. It’s why “feeder guilds” were a major term in TBC, no one wanted to be a feeder.

What is the problem exactly? There are classic guilds RIGHT NOW that 50% of the players are low skill crap players that are being carried by the other 20 in the raid.

If a player is a standout, and is in a guild not progressing, its pretty common-sense that they would look to join a better guild progressing at a pace that matches their skill level.

I did it all the time in Everquest and had no issues with it in WOW

Just be glad WOW doesn’t have a faction grind where you swap back and forth with being allied with 1 of 3 different factions :stuck_out_tongue:

It was accelerated to mass proportions in TBC, only the bottom barrel guilds ever did attunement, higher guilds just sniped people from lower guilds

And it wasn’t even about guilds being bad, they could be one boss behind and would get sniped. The attunements really fed the culture. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have them, but good riddance to them when they are gone.

And in classic, you can do that.

Not in TBC though.

This is an inevitability for some guilds, and it will be unfortunate. The skill floor is much higher than back then, but I imagine that quite a few guilds will get stuck at Unnerfed Vashj and Kael. I remember some feeder guilds struggling to even get out of Kara, but I don’t see the block happening there.

This is true, but I still want attunements to stay in. I still think they’re worth it.

BUT, yes, if you’re a guild leader you better be on the ball if you want to have a viable 25 man raiding guild. If you’re slow clearing kara, or fall too far behind, you’re going to hemorrhage players. Recruitment and retention of good/keyed players is more of a concern in TBC.

All for it so I am not expected to have 2-3 characters I could swap in for raids.

All For it.

I’m glad we’re getting the harder versions

Are attunements even going to be major problem if the content is separated by phases anyway.

You have likely anywhere from 3-6 months for the next tier to release, think that’s plenty of time for pug groups to clear, guilds to clear alts, or for guilds to just sell runs for attunement if they want to.
