Attention healers

healing classes Do you mainly heal or switch to dps for pvp?

Well you see, i enjoy being useful so i don’t respec dps.

I enjoy not being broke from respec’ing every week, so I heal in both.

I don’t have much gold, so I don’t respec. I also don’t like hybrid specs, since I like to be the most optimal in a role. Paladin is a healers life for me.

Healers win games. You may not enjoy it well doing it, but the team with the most healers wins.

Winning is better than topping dps charts.

Depends, if we have too many healers I throw on a 2h and dps, if theres not enough healers I heal. (Currently Hybrid Holy/Ret Build, I just swap gear)

I heal.
I can not really switch to DPS, i havent the gear or spec to carry it off.
I mean i can pew pew a bit but unless i respecced boomkin, my pew pew is not terribly viable offensively.

And i die lots (no one protects healers)

Elemental Resto 30/0/21 build. I equip spell damage gear for dealing damage, and equip healing gear to heal. I only have to swap gear, not talents. Because it is a true hybrid build, i simply do what is required.
Any questions?

only shamans respec from heals to dps if they’re adhering to the “meta”

When DR was 25%, and alliance was mostly premading AV i went ele/resto hybrid. Now that we can actually win almost if not every AV I’ve switched back to deep resto because it keeps me alive in the backlines, which ultimately gets me more honor.

That’s ultimately true according to the meta, but the reality is that there’s too much of a shortage of healers in an average BG that it’s typically better to just go full resto. I think if every priest stopped playing shadow and went disc, and every shaman was the hybrid ele/resto spec, we’d overall be better in BGs.

Yeah I mostly go full resto sometimes I switch to ele/resto but deep resto I think is better overall.

for 3/4 of the classes that have the capacity to heal, only one spec is useful for them.
Druids: Resto
Shamans: Resto
Paladins: Holy
Anything else is a meme, just because you saw a guy put together a 10 minute compilation taken from 50+ hours of PVP and picked out the parts where the stars aligned, doesn’t mean that the spec is actually good 97% of the time.

Priests get more choice, shadow is quite good in PVP, there is no denying that, but they are also fantastic healers, also shadow priests are more likely to toss you a Shield or even come out of shadow to heal you, because they actually have mana to use, unlike the meme specs that cast 2 spells and are completely oom.

Now that the meta is WSG and not solo q AV trying to snipe kills I would argue almost every healer is actually healing in PVP except Shaman.

I did hybrid holy/ret for World PVP, since there was so much emphasis on going solo or small groups for maximum honor gain (at least on my server). It was nice - though I switched to holy/prot for sheer surviveability in BGs, and it’s worked quite well, especially given how many warriors there usually are.

heal only period

Yea no real point. Druid can choose multiple pvp specs though depending on what you want. Moonfury , hotw, swiftmend are all viable, although all are still strong healing and support focus.

I heal and dps at the same time

Stop whatever you are doing and reroll warrior. Then blame everyone else for not healing you.

I am deep Resto shaman. I mostly heal until I run out of mana, then either run in and die if I have no more water or step back and drink one. The only time I fire off a quick shot is if a alliance is trying to run away or run past us until the true heros of the Horde kill him.
