It shouldn’t seem that way, because that isn’t what happened. Nobody exploited anything, you listed an order and it was filled to the letter. Nobody had bad behavior because they didn’t give you a max-rank item without any expectation, agreement, or obligation to do so.
You got what you got. If you wanted R5 you should’ve made an order which guarantees that.
Nobody agreed to do anything for you and flaked. Just because I ask you to buy me a car, I can’t then say I asked you and expect it to matter.

It could only be exploitation if the system were designed not to permit that behavior.
Your note holds no sway over what the crafter does, they’re not beholden to you beyond the materials you offer in the realm of public orders.
There is a way to fix this, and your refusal to engage with it does not mean the system is itself broken, only that you are disgruntled over a self-made issue.

To the letter? I asked for T5 and got T4. What “letter”?
You requested an item (not sure what item, but an item). It may or may not have included a missive, crest, or embellishment. You got that item, with those addons if they were in the order. That is all you requested, that is what you got. The note is not a requirement to be filled.

I’ve definitely seen people try to use the public order instructions as an attempt to get a 5 star item without paying the going rate. No way for me to know if this is what the OP was doing, just throwing my own experience out there.

Read the title again.
“ASKED” for T5, got a T4. ASKED. The point is about the system having a “note” which can be ignored, and people exploiting it.
I already
I already stated I posted a healthy commission.
How much did you place the order to be done for?

You ordered an item. Your order was filled. The note is not a requirement of the order, it is a note. Nothing was exploited. You got what you ordered.

So then remove the note and this issue is moot.
Why remove the note? It’s handy to have, just because you misused it doesn’t mean others won’t use it and benefit.

I didnt see your order so I don’t really know what “healthy” means.

Please show Blizzard documentation where I “misused” it.
Their commission.
You didn’t do something offensive or against the rules, you tried to use it for a purpose it does not fill. It is not a way to add a minimum rank requirement. You shouldn’t need a blue post to understand that.

That’s the point of contention now, isn’t it?
Public orders shouldn’t be any different. The entire purpose of this was so that people could have anyone craft stuff and not have to worry about trying to find people who could.

But the crafting intro quest in DF was specifically so people can find specific crafters.

Exactly, except I disagree that it should be the same as private orders.
This is the tradeoff:
- You want it easy, quick, and without effort: Spin the roulette wheel
- You want it guaranteed high quality: Find a crafter

No it isn’t. There is a method by which one can set a minimum rank. The note is not that method and the note does not work for that method.
