Aside from going to a doctor

How do you all play if sitting is hard and or you are in a lot of pain.

I tried on my stomach a bit. It’s the same problem as sitting. Should I just bite the bullet and go full on zero g chair and floating monitor or what…

I had a VR headset back in 2001 before they even existed. They where extremely hot, heavy and gave me a headache-nasea, not to mention low rez like 900x600 and low bitrate color wise.

I use a standing desk and enjoy that while soloing a little. I only get like 30 mins out of it and no way I can raid standing without really building up some strength.

Just get one of the top office chairs at a deep discount on a fire sale site like Madison seating.

That’s where I get mine anyway. Few complaints. Sometimes the lifts are broken. But the chairs are otherwise in good shape and I go through them a lot.

Im wondering about a serious gaming chair like e sports kind.

I haven’t been there in years. They might have that.

I used to fashion my chair with pillows and lots of cushiony things. Was a great improvement. A warm bottle also helps.

If this is a long lasting issue, you really should go see the doctor instead of looking at chairs tbh

I just went to see myself. Steelcase leap is an amazing chair I use 12+ hrs a day. Bout 300 bucks on Madison.

They usually offer them with big discounts because they come from closed projects / offices.

I did actually im pretty munched. The real kicker was that I used to be extremely healthy. Like marathon runner healthy :frowning:

There’s not much they can do. It’s a constant source of grief for me.

I use one. My brother got it for my birthday so im not exactly sure what the brand is but it’s amazing. I don’t have much back pain day to day.

Honestly 300 dollars is worth it for some comfort and the ability to play wow more than a few hours every once in awhile.

Some days I just don’t even play cuz it’s too much effort and pain.

If you are suffering pain then that is your body telling you not to do something.

I have osteo in my lower spine and my gp and specialists have told me not to sit for more than around 40m at a time as it puts pressure on things that don’t like pressure. It was one of the reasons I had to give up office work as I was required to sit for just too long. And although I have a sit/stand desk, having recently had a knee replacement., I can’t stand too long either.

The tip is movement. Set an alarm and stop what you are doing and get up and move around. Make a cuppa, tidy the kitchen, walk out to the mailbox, just do something to unkink your body. And sadly you might need to consider reducing the amount of things like raiding, as they often require extended periods in the one spot.

Don’t ignore what your body is telling you, or you will ultimately regret it. Take it from me, a regretter. :sunglasses:

I don’t have a gaming chair but I do have the leap. I have zero complaints about comfort. It’s a good chair.

Are these circulation issues? You probably want foot elevation too. Leap doesn’t come with that but can be picked up extra.

Exercise. Just a little walking or stair climbing will do to firm up your butt so it protects your tailbone and gluteal nerves.

Dang that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
Hope you find a way to stay comfortable

Pillow wedges to prop up on when laying in the bed or if lucky on the couch and a heating pad to my back.

You could see a chiropractor too. But if you’ve been in this pain for a long period they may just tell you to see a doctor.

Take breaks, if you can’t afford an expensive chair.

My chair sucks and is giving me back issues, but walking around seemingly un-kinks my back lol.

Heck, even with an expensive chair, taking breaks could make a big difference.

I heard having one of those mats for a standing desk, to stand on, also helps for extended periods of time.

You basically have to ‘learn’ to game standing, since sitting is default for most people.

Yeah lots of really good advice showing up in this thread.

Flat on back and elevated legs helps.

I used to do yoga too. I did something really stupid tho (I would rather not specify).

Yeah… I would not buy these “gaming chairs” they look awful. The padding on the seat without springs is NEVER enough. Eventually you will be sitting on the hard part of the seat and that isn’t comfortable.

Leap and chairs like that in the 1k+ retail range use a suspension system not cushions. So it never hurts to sit in them and I mean dozen+ hrs a day.
