For many medical reasons, my setup starts with a Lazy-Boy recliner chair.
I then added an ASUS gaming laptop that I have mounted (using 3M dual-lock industrial style velcro-like stuff) on a laptop cooler that is then mounted on a lap desk that spans the arms.
I also use a Razer Naga mouse (with the 12 buttons on the left side) on a mouse pad on the right side of the lap desk and a Logitech G13 for my left hand on the left side of the lap desk.
I only use the keyboard on the laptop for typing in chat.
One of my best ever chairs was an old recliner - like the old fashioned ones that don’t have the leg part (which may be a big part of what I need now).
Anyway this old blue chair was like twenty years old in 1998. And had a slightly broken and leaning back and was upholstered like outa the 70s. Returning to that chair would be like returning to the womb. Oh yeah. I got that one for free too. It was a gift from someones garage.
Pillows. Lots of pillows… and a comforter or fluffy doona. Also, wedge a small pillow between your legs or under your buttocks to allow for better blood flow, so you’re not cutting off blood supply from any point in your body regardless of which position you prefer to sit in.
Drinking water, especially sparkling water or water with lemon sporadically also improves circulation and regular trips to the bathroom helps cleanse your kidneys.
They also have small pillow bracelets for your wrists while you play. They’re comfortable but I don’t use them much.
Not having air conditioner in summer or a heater in winter can also damage your health (my landlord finally installed an old ac unit 10 years later after I moved in here… and my housemate and I still don’t have a proper heater).
So anyway, yeah… those are just a few things off the top of my head that are noteworthy in regards to health when playing video games or having a sedentary lifestyle.
Where is the pain? A coccyx cushion may help, if the pain is in your behind/lower spine. I had to use one with my old chair bc the cushion was non-existent.
No offense. Kinda indifferent to it. Hope it’s a cool device for people who need to work online a lot. Or like do data entry tho probably still need a better input than gestures…
I mean… it is pretty cool. Definitely no longer in my early adopter phase of life.
Depends on where the pain is and the source of pain. If it’s like cancer for example a chair ain’t gonna cut it.
Although office chairs tend to be very comfortable if you can afford it for general back pain. Proper posture is definitely important. For chronic pains at least; to help avoid them.
I got a bistro set, has extra wide seats in the chairs, very high up so I can either sit and play or stand and play.
If I stand, I’m able to lean back on the chair seat. If I sit, I’m able to sit cross legged which takes pressure off the small of my back so it all works out.
That’s the cheapest way I could arrange my “desk” for lack of a better word.
That bistro set cost me $100.00 total, chairs and all. It was supposed to be for outdoors but didn’t have the umbrella it was supposed to come with so I got it for a bit less.
I use the hole in the middle to run the cables for my computer & internet through.
