The biggest issue with it is that horde have such an advantage with their proximity to the zone. Alliance can’t even get into the zone without being demolished. Lone Wolf is a disaster for alliance.
The majority of the playerbase hasn’t hit level cap yet, hopefully things pick up there when more people do.
Numbers won’t change design flaws. It will just mean there are more people in the train rushing from PvE spot to the next
PvEers are going to rush bosses for rep, because that is all they care about. Here’s is the question I have for the “PvPers” though, what is stopping you from defending? Guess what happens when you stand between the PvE group and there rep? PvP.
Im really surprised you’re playing SoD considering your obsession with keeping this game in an Original, untouched state. I would have thought a guy like you would prefer Era over this.
Have the event unlock 1 point at a time which is random at the start and mobs become active after a couple of minutes. Forcing people to go to that point.
Have the next point unlock randomly once a captain at that point dies.
Have temporary respawn closeISH to the point, not right on top so dieing doesn’t matter.
Both Final bosses unlock when the last point is finished.
This is obviously still trash. But it would be better.
Well if you defend you get 0 rewards for a start. So sure if you stand in front of the zerg it will result in pvp I guess but not in a good fun way and you get nothing for your efforts except the knowledge that you did it I guess but you can do that by camping in hillsbrad too and have a better time
It has nothing to do with level cap or picking up. The design doesn’t work and PvPing in there is penalized.
Yea honestly it really needs to be Instanced.
Bingo I gave up. There is no PvP in there and you can’t even get groups together for it often times and 1 side wins without ever seeing them.
Other than honor from kills…but I get what you are trying to say, PvPing isn’t fun, you just want rewards.
So you would rather gank questers than fight people in a pvp event?
Heres my idea. Make an NPC escort quest for both factions. When you kill the opposing NPC it gives you some Ashenvale specific pvp consumes or something. That concentrates people around a specific area, but the area moves throughout the zone, paced so you can die and still participate, but not spam die because of running. Maybe you might need to rez people after a fight so they dont have to run back. Additionally, you cant just zerg down a boss for a win. Harming a boss just messes up the opposing side and gives you a boon.
Basically your win can only be made a loss by the opposite faction, but its timed out so nothing can make it faster, only slower. People would cry about the turtle nature of it though. But thats PvP.
This is the way.
No I love pvp I play this game only for the pvp. The ashenvale world event isn’t pvp.
Pvp is fun but that’s not what this is. And when I speak of rewards I’m talking the rep you get from the event you don’t get that if you pvp. You only get it from objectives which specifically prevent you from taking part in pvp.
So I mean ya, at this point if the options are to try and stand in front of a zerg that’s running objectives while your sides zerg does the same and neither are interested as a majority in fighting and maybe hopefully pick off stragglers after they run by or have actual fights in hillsbrad for the same rewards same honor?
Ya I’ll stick to hillsbrad
issue is we cant QUE bgs and be in Ashenvale… No worl queing has made it kinda dumb. IF que wsg cant sit and end of barrens as horde but very few if any want to do that… Let us farm and que same time
I feel attacked
(you aren’t wrong in your post though)
Lol yeah exactly
It’s just AV for wsg rep basically
People would rather not try
That is absolutely true. They need to have remote queuing so PvP players won’t just sit in the capital near the way npc – they can hang out in ashenvale instead.
Of course there needs to be some PVP gear progression that matches raid progression as well. Nobody cares about one trinket. It was a day to get that.
I hate WSG so this is a plus for me, personally don’t think CTF works in WoW but I am the outlier.
Which is why I like it but yeah, as you said prior, if you make the end point objective into “kill pve boss” it stops the focus from being on anything else in the BG.
I like to try, and I enjoy being rewarded for my efforts. I just CANNOT bring myself to enjoy WSG after a decade and a half, and that’s okay, I wont cry I cant get the WSG rewards.
Hopefully this doesn’t sap players from WSG for those who enjoy that BG.
warfronts 2.0 i knew that was gonna crash and burn the second i saw it.
Haven’t done the event yet, had no idea on its mechanics
It’s pretty poorly implemented, for something the lead developers said was suppose to be a focus on world pvp in SOD, not pve, SOD sure is 99% pve lol.
Once again I feel like the devs get all their feedback from PVE twitch streamers that hate pvp, adding any kind of AV style pve boss objectives inside a supposed pvp match, will result in pvp being avoided and people just farming the pve objectives and leaving.
I seen more people trying to avoid pvp in ashnevale than actually want pvp fights
