As much as I hate to say it - Servers should have seasonal resets

You gunna be raiding for 5 years straight or something? It’s not like Blizz will release fresh realms every single day.

not if the reset is once a year. if i have a choice between a server that won’t reset and i can take my time on, or a server they reset yearly…i’m avoiding yearly at all costs.

i’m actually against the idea, but if it would shut up the “RESET SERVERS” crowd…

Basically ya based on my past track record, Id have to say you nailed it!

How could you guarantee that if that’s never happened? Your speculation on that is as good as the next person’s.
Also, the active player base consists of more than those who want a reset. The majority are not hardcore wow players. If 10% of a server leaves to a new realm, a difference could be noted, but the server wouldn’t die.

This is the FRESH CROWD, its been around its really a thing!

Oh this will be interesting then.

Would you be upset if Blizzard released the game with all content out and AQ gates open?

If you say you’d be upset then you are infact team fresh.

why would anyone be upset about that? if you missed it it’s your own fault

I would not, I actually Prefer no gates! However I am just fine with what they decided, its not bad ether!

Well I’m glad we agree that resetting servers is a bad idea haha. But, if we’re just trying to shut up the few that are pro-reset we would also shut up the hundreds of other thread complainers by giving them what they want. Blizz has to do what’s best for the community as a majority. Not the louder minority.
Btw, I assume you already know this so I’m not trying to be a prick or try to educate you. Just a friendly reminder

what do you mean by missed it? All of the realms you just reserved a name on will release with naxx out.

misunderstood what you said. stayed awake way past my bedtime

Classic seasons will create hype in the community around the game that it otherwise will never have if just left to rot indefinitely.

People will come and go, but many will never come back if the servers are just left untouched forever.

People will hear that a new season of Classic is starting, and they will get back into Classic again when they feel the itch to play again.

Retail WoW does soft-resets on all your characters progress every 2 years with new expansions anyway, so how is this that much different? Are you complaining about your Legion character level, or Legion gear being completely useless and worthless in BFA? No? you move on and experience the game again in another way.

If they did that id be in naxx trying to farm trash in greens that’s for sure!

Would that bother you though? Cleavner says it wouldn’t.

warcraft iii is still alive and well it dropped in 2002!, your logic is flawed!

yeah i would like stuff to be time gated of course. because the hardcore will blow thru it all otherwise which ruins it as a whole. however i stand strong on no server resets. people put in enormous amounts of their time and effort into not only building their characters, but their guilds. there will always be something to do. if you guys want a server reset so bad then get blizzard to create a server that everyone is aware of ahead of time that will reset. but don’t try to make us fall victim to your desires

my time is valuable to me. throwing out years of effort may as well be throwing out years of my life if i have nothing to show for it. it’s like buying a house, then saying okay i won, take my house and i’ll start over from 0 and buy a house again because it’s fun. we don’t all see that as fun. for us it’s the journey and it’s a journey we only wanna take once

Its a video game, no matter what there will be nothing left to show for it in the end.

Whether you have seasonal resets every 2 years where you play 1 or 2 characters and gear decently geared, or you have a server that runs forever, and you get every class maxed out in BIS, you still have nothing in real life to show for it, because its a video game.

The experience is what matters.

Woah woah woah. Holdddddd upppp. I didn’t like expansions in wow. I didn’t play post MoP so idk about Legion, but I didn’t like the release of expansions. I hated having my crap that I worked hard for replaced by a beginning quest into the new expansions. Expansions are what drove the player base away from wow. I won’t pin point which one but you can look up the stats.

This is far different from retails expansions.
How many players come to wow fresh in retail compared to existing players that come back to wow to see if it’s any good? Very very few.

You don’t have to listen to me on this one, just look up the numbers of players playing wow throughout the years. Each expansion release causes a temporary surge of players that dies off and leaves the player base even smaller than before.
Comparing server resets to retail prices that players do not want a reset on their time and effort put into the game

by that logic life is meaningless because we all die
