As much as I hate to say it - Servers should have seasonal resets

Blizzard can already do that with BFA and the future expansions. Learn what makes Classic so good and apply that to retail.

Keep Classic WoW “Classic”.

that’s not correct. the raid bosses are glitchy and poorly scripted. the characters are not proper. it’s all an estimation. a very inaccurate estimation. i’ve done real naxx and i’ve done private server naxx. there is a night and day difference

Not true. Replaying the same game in itself would be boring.
Resetting something already accomplished doesn’t make it seem new again if done over and over.
And this thread isn’t about new realms. I’m supporting new realms being released.
I’m against realms being reset.

Okay but why should that stop them from producing new content for classic as well, especially when classic is being developed by an entirely separate team from the retail devs? Not everybody who wants to play classic wants to go back to retail, some people would like to see new content just for classic that fits into classic. I’d love to see some of classics design philosophy make its way into retail, but i also want to see classic get a 1.13 patch on onward

Didn’t read all the replies, but all I can think of here is:

raid tiers are 4-6 months now. not 6-8.
most people didn’t raid in vanilla, and those that did pillaged a lot.

That is fair enough, but the issue with that is blizzard just wont keep releasing new realms.

so set aside one or two servers for the super hardcore to have yearly or biyearly resets on.
most people will need longer to level up, gear up, and clear content.

i’m willing to bet those servers would be dead the moment they were created

servers been out a week NOT FRESH ENOUGH!

How are you sure of that?
Yeah they’re being stingy with the launch number of realms, but who is to say they won’t add on new servers in the future?
If we’re talking longevity (which I think we are), then we shouldn’t base our ideas of Blizzard releasing servers off of launch. They’re testing things and trying to get a better feel for the player base. I’m not trying to turn this into another layering thread, but the reasoning for the few realms + high layering is them trying to play things safe.
I believe that once things settle, there is no reason to believe that they will not create new realms. They do it on retail when it’s player base continues to decline.

someone made a good point they won’t add more servers till after the launch so they can have the headline “classic wow exceeds expectations” for publicity

I think it would be better to just release a new realm and those who want to “reset” can move to that new realm

they already split Herod, but ya thats the General Idea!

not saying to do this now. i’m saying if the OP wants his special servers give them to him. but in a way that doesn’t screw the rest of us.

I can guarantee you the same people who are against seasonal resets would be complaining that their servers are dead because the active player base moved onto the fresh servers.

I disagree, I think Fresh mentality, Does hurt the rest of the servers! You go to raid one day and 10 of your main people you depended on went fresh, now you got to recruit and gear 10 more people dam!

then be that as it may. my life doesn’t have to be wow forever

I didn’t think you were saying now instead of the future.
And why cater to the small minority? Those who want a server reset would be just as content with a new server. Practically the same thing except there would be a different realm name. Blizzard won’t listen to the 1% who would rather have Herod reset every two years. Why would they?

this is true! but people will complain about anything! So I answered all your questions logically whats left to talk about?
