Video games have had politics for as long as they could have cohesive narratives.
FFVII was a game about capitalism literally destroying a planet of its resources. Metal Gear Solid was a satire about the American obsession with militarization.
Red Faction is literally a metaphor for extremist governments.
Deus Ex generates a discourse on inequality between humans and those with cybernetics.
