any chance it gets cheaper today after wrath launch?

No, it’s 5kg in wrath. Until cata prepatch (actually i think it’s still 5k in cata)

Prepatch was the price reduction. If it didn’t get reduced then, it won’t be getting reduced

Prepatch was all the systematic changes. Nothing else is getting changed or revamped or updated until the hypothetical Cata Classic prepatch. We are in Wrath of the Lich King now, the only thing we’re waiting on is for them to flip a switch to turn on exp and activate the boats to actually take us to Northrend

Its only 4k if you get SW or Org to exalted.

people aren’t running a lot of SH N or BF/HR heroics right now. If you got to max recently, not sure exalted in thrallmar is in the cards. At least that’s been my experience

Unsure how I would even raise org right now. I think in Wrath I can pick up an org tabard and get it that way

Turn in 60 wool, then 60 silk, then 60 Mageweave.

Then turn in buttloads of runecloth in org.

Or complete like 1000 old world quests and you’ll be exalted at the end.

yeah, super fun

EDIT: I do have buttloads of cloth though

Thrallmar isn’t the rep tied to it anymore anyways. The Flight Trainers in HFP are now tied to Stormwind and Orgrimmar respectively.

As for how to get those reps to exalted, its mainly just cloth turn ins. Which to be fair, might come out to cost more than the 1k gold discount if you don’t want to farm the cloth yourself.

If you were doing the Stratholme Ret Paladin Gold Farm at all, you could have easily gotten Org to exalted off of the Runecloth you generate from it, hah.

It is already cheaper, you get the rep reduced price.

I did some. It was less fun than you think. I do have like 50 stacks of runecloth banked around. Enough for 16 turn ins. how much rep do you get for each turn in?

I’m aware, I tried it a handful of times as a DK, never got above 180 gph, and eventually gave up and stuck to my 200-300 gph mining route instead to meet my gold goals for Wotlk Launch lol.

edit: That said, it WOULD have made for an excellent way for any Ret/DK to grind out epic flying if they can stomach the farm, because you get Runecloth for turn-ins on top of raw gold

I honestly have no clue, I haven’t done the cloth turn-ins since Classic Era when I was playing an Undead Rogue but wanted my epic riding mount to be the wolf mount, so I had to get Orgrimmar to Exalted via Runecloth.

I mean, to be clear, I’m not worried about my mains. They already got it, but the ragtag group of alts that I leveled to 70 during JJ are kinda broke

Yeah I feel that pain, I’m a one character kind of guy, so that’s not something I’ve ever had to worry about.

If you do have a lot of alts, hopefully you can leverage all of their professions into a gold-making complex with the launch of the new expansion, lol. There’s gotta be some kind of feedback loop that having multiple different professions on multiple different high-level characters gets you, right?

I’m stuck over here with just the one character and because I’m an engineer, all my gold making has to come from mining rather than crafting xD

Unfortunately most of the gold making recipes in TBC were locked behind reputations that you need to run dungeons for. There haven’t been enough of those to get the rep needed to leverage it, otherwise, yeah, I’d have a lot more cash.

My main, mining/BS made a fortune off of shield spikes early on.
