Artifact transmog maw -> apocalypse doesnt work

So I cannot transmog Maw of the Damned to Apocalypse. I’m in blood dk spec wearing Maw and when I click on the apocalypse appearance, nothing happens. No outline appears around any of the appearances and no updates happen in the preview pane.

I thought these restrictions were done away with. I’m not even sure it’s a restriction, seems like a bug, because the appearance shows up on the list on the right as if it was available. It’s like I’m being teased. No notes pop up saying unavailable for current spec. No notice about incompatibility. It shows up as if it’s supposed to be selectable.

My artifact weapon is 20 ilvls higher than anything else I have so I’d rather not switch to an heirloom or quest item.

If you have an Artifact equipped, you change its appearance at the Forge in the DK Class Hall. However, that will ONLY change it to its own Artifact appearances.

Give me a second to check about trying to use the Transmog vendor to do what you are trying to do.

I don’t want to change the appearance of maw to another tint. I want to transmog it to apocalypse.

Yes, I just tried that and from how the Artifacts work I do not believe it will be possible to change one spec’s Artifact to another spec’s Artifact. It appears to be an intended limitation of how Artifacts work.
