Arms Warrior Changes

Hi I quit this game at the end of MoP and I just came back a few weeks before BFA S2 ended. This post is just really because I’m curious on others opinions about warriors and where they are in PvP right now.

I came back to a game that mages could continue to channel casts while they blink but my charge stun is gone.

Defensive Stance is no longer a baseline ability.

Execute even with a 6% dmg buff is actually quite laughable damage with a full rage bar.

Intervene is no longer a thing for arms warriors at all.

I am simply outclassed by every other melee in the game.

I do understand completely that I have an MS, and sharpen is an amazing ability. The problem is with most matchups i feel that warriors don’t have enough survivability to make it to a point in the game where my MS + Dampening actually is a factor.

I will admit, coming back to the game I did not want to PVE for my BiS and I didn’t as I said I came back just a few weeks before the end of the season but warrior feels almost like a waste of space without that BiS Heroic PVE gear.

95% of the warriors on the first 10 pages of the ladder all have Prism, or Trident.
I’m happy were moving into 8.2 but I’m assuming that this patch won’t change much for warrior.

I shared my opinion and talked about the changes that warrior’s received. Does anyone actually know why so much has been taken away from what once was such a fun class?

The thing with arms warrior is that it’s balanced. In fact, it’s one of the few balanced classes in the game. The main problem is all other classes are either doing too much dmg or too much healing ie they are broken.

You say that arms is balanced but in correspondence with what? If everything else is doing too much damage or too much healing how is warrior “balanced” i’d say it’s unbalanced if you are viewing class damage output and mechanics as a whole.

its balanced in that its dmg and healing is right where it should be. The problem is some classes are doing broken dmg or healing or both.

He probably is just trying to say that if there was a class base to fall under when it comes to WoW, the ideal damage numbers and class capability would fall under warrior’s for this current expansion. In which, I, Houston Jones, world’s strongest dk, would need a slight nerfbat, and classes like DH and ret would need a ten ton hammer falling upon them to fit the ideal numbers.

Damage is good, lacking in defensives though.

Need something like WoTLK’s Second Wind to make a comeback.

Put a shirt on will ya. Geez some people.

nah, keep it off.

this^ arms is good and completely viable, just too many whiny arms warrs used to their spec being tier 0

Idk - i didnt really play a whole ton of arenas last season, but arms certainly didn’t feel that good. Every game i played in i felt like the team would perform better if i was a dk/dh/monk/rogue etc.

Curious to see how the buffs play out this season though.

I don’t think he was talking about the forum post, I believe he was talking about the shirt comment. I think warrior is viable with the RNG PVE drops and the BiS Raiding gear it’s definitely “viable” but without having your BiS in nearly every slot warrior is the most underperforming class in my opinion.

I’m multiglad and was 2300+ in 3v3 this past season without really playing more than 2 weeks. I can tell you that when I see a warrior burst, I take my hands off the keyboard and watch nothing happen. Thank you for listening to my ted talk.

Edit: When people see a ret burst, they die in 3 gcds or they pop everything to live unless said ret is CC humped. Must be great for you to play a tier 0 class and complain on forums about people playing a tier 0 class that is no longer in it’s season 8 WOTLK glory days (or malev season I guess).

Burst is good problem is we just flop in dstance.

Still think warrior is fine rn but compared to other classes their defensives are lacking.

If you have trident.

Trident actually nerfs your damage, just gives you more defensives.

Warriors without any tank items flop harder than a fish.

You have the same STR as an azerite piece with it on, how does it decrease damage?

It’s 5 ilevel lower than Dawnbringer and relies on a proc to gain main stat.

200 str is not > top end difference between a 410-415.

Not to mention you miss out on secondary stats.

On DK I can tell you it significantly increases damage compared to my 420 w/ socket Dawnbreaker. I assumed it would work the same for warrior. My B.

Certainly doesn’t feel that way to me, if I put my 415 dawnbringer on I do way more damage.

Is that on target dummy or PVP? When you get the buff around every 4 hits and it pops and gives the STR it should give you more overall damage as well as burst then a 415 dawn.
