Arfus is massively disrespectful towards your players and their time

Where did you hear this? I cannot find anything saying they are sunsetting encapsulated destinies. Crest, yes. But as far as I can find all the world events and their currencies and items are still gonna be in 10.2. It would be really weird to remove that specific item but leave the Time Rift event in.

Please elaborate on how you earned something via random dumb luck.

Grinding like a slave. Felt satisfying.

  • Dilated Time Capsule (Time Rifts weekly currency) has been discontinued and can be sold to vendors for gold. The new weekly currency is Dilated Time Pod.

  • Dreamsurge Chrysalis (Dreamsurge weekly currency) has been discontinued and can be sold to vendors for gold. The new weekly currency is Dreamsurge Cocoon.

So spend them now.

@Kaylessa, Do you consider killing the same boss good gameplay? What about new Holiday Worldquest, Holiday PvP brawls, Holiday World events…then add the cosmetics like Arfus, mount…etc that are related to a limited time event to a vendor for candy that you can farm from the boss or that other content. Yes, you’re right Boss participation could go down but you can fix that too, Instead of adding just 2 rings, 1 sword and 1 plate helmet…Add a whole full catch up holiday gear set for every class or make it drop the last catch up gear + evergreeen rewards like XP potions, Stat runes…etc, maybe add 1-2% bag that could contain mounts from previous raid, dungeons, reputations …etc like the did before with healer / tank for LFG (https://www.wowhead.com/item=69903/satchel-of-exotic-mysteries#contains).

That’s a good first idea, similar to the mount for Alliance/Horde from Timerift that you can gift to other players or the Salamander from Forbiden Reach that you can trade.

Something else I think was disrespectful was how they got people’s hopes up by them making a post on the forums saying drop rates were increased. Before that they said they didn’t want people to feel like they needed to blast the holiday bosses with a herd of alts.

Nothing has changed. People are still trying every day and not getting what they’re after.

They should have just left it the way it was or actually do something substantial. Going from 0.01% to 0.1 isn’t really what people were asking for.

Better options would have been:

  • Remove 10 dungeons an hour limit.
  • Increase the drop rate to 20% (or similar).
  • Sell every thing for holiday currency.
  • Make the drop rate greatly increased for all characters on your account.

Devs never fixed the core issue, the insane amount of attempts against something that doesn’t provide good gameplay…Hardmode was a good new thing but it’s not fun after a couple of kills. It’s not only about the rewards but the lack of good gameplay for these holidays.

No not really were not guaranteed tomorrow. You can die in a car crash tomorrow or the next day. Who is to say Earth won’t get nuked next year in WW3? To say there is always next year is not exactly true. Alot can happen in 12 months.

Neither is the drop so oh well. Should just live with what we got.

Got a few more characters to try on later today, but not getting my hopes up, this current Dev team seems to figure it out for a brief moment then immediately forget that lesson and go back to stupid design choices.

I was actually waiting for them to announce that they added the pet to the vendor for 300 treats on the last day and sat “We heard your feedback”.

Maby once in a Green Moon which is never. Blizzard is disconnected with its players. They don’t communicate, they are distant and throw stuff in the air for the fun of it and expect players to love it right off the bat.

I was just saying that it is something Blizz would do, last day of an event, high cost, then claim they heard the feedback, I wouldn’t put it past them.

I don’t think this is super realistic. They do communicate and interact with the players pretty regularly. :man_shrugging:

Since when? Shall we ignore that SL’s happened? It’s Blizzard’s failure to communicate. Blizzard never talks to the players.

in neither of those situations would i be remotely concerned about a wow pet i didn’t get

Unless blizz actually makes it one attempt per day per account, people will still throw every alt at it daily, no matter how low the chances of getting it are.

I’m all for some RNG excitement, but it’s holiday cosmetics. Just let everyone get it by the 10th run and make a new one every year.

Do something crazy like the holiday boss can appear in any raid/dungeon/BG at the appropriate difficulty with a 25/50/75/100% drop for everyone based on whatever difficulty you’re in.

SL isn’t the modern expansion, why would you use that as the example? A lot has changed since then.

For starters, a lot of changes that took place in DF, took place specifically because of player feedback to SL. On top of that, Blizzard routinely talks about their plans going forward with their Blues News and monthly posts and CC interactions.

You might have been more right if you made your post at the tail end of BfA or the beginning of SL, but even then I’d still be here disagreeing with you and pointing out how they, even at that point, were stepping up their game.

This is patently false.

Hi Chimes, Can we see this approach for Holidays? It should be a time to celebrate, even adding the option to share our duplicate with fellow players feels better that deleting the items, also the solution by adding a 1 boost attempt didn’t fix the core issue that’s doing every possible attempt persuing a really low drop item.
