I’m up to running this encounter on as many as 19 alts a day. Hardmode on the first character every day, normal for the rest. Rarity has me at 129 attempts so far, and I’m not sure if that includes last year’s attempts every day.
I’ve gotten all the transmog, multiple swords, helmets, enough squashlings to fill a field. Endless masks and candy and treats.
I got the dragonriding manuscript this year. That was nice.
But I’m still desperately running my army of alts for Arfus because of all the anecdotal evidence that he drops on subsequent attempts in a day.
But this is just annoying.
Locking a battle pet behind extreme rng on a time-limited event just feels so wrong. That’s what mounts are for!

2nd year, over 300 kills, enough Sinister Squashlings, flying brooms, stupid masks and wands, weighted Jack-o-lanterns to fill the Atlantic and Pacific oceans…
and no Arfus. Come on, Blizz… now you’re just being mean.

Finally got mine today, no curses. think ive had like 250+ runs over the event.

Wowhead often assumes things and ends up incorrect.
Sweet! That means I still have hope on alts.
For the mount. Wowhead claimed for the pet out of assumption. And thus far, seems to be wrong.
For the mount they do. Mount is first kill per account per day and with curses increases droprate. But it looks like Arfus isn’t following that rule.

Blizz usually doesn’t lock pets behind extreme rng on a limited time event.
It would be super-cool if they just let us earn it with currency since I’ve no shortage of THAT now.

I still haven’t dropped neither the pet nor the dragon appearance and I got the horseman mount last year.

Got the mount this week gone and the pet two days after it and no I wasn’t trying to farm it.

Tricky treats.
I swear I had the best drops this year because I actually farmed two entire continents on separate toons. Maybe there’s something hidden iunno. But I’m telling you, I have always farmed that mount for 17 years and just sort of never tried.
The one year I go ham on Tricky treats, bam here you go.

Have hope! I finally got Arfus yesterday on my first turn of the day with all curses active after running 10 toons through it every day this year. He does exist!

Ya your possibly right, blizz only confirmed mount drop increase chance but dont see anywhere blizz saying the pet drop chance increased. Maybe wowhead did assume.

Well, I got the Lick King doggy…7 days after I posted in here. I was kinda trying - sending a few alts in there, since it’s a quick queue. They got some things to wear so that was that.

What’s sad is the reason we’re all complaining… there’s no need for a drop rate like this on a seasonal pet. Some getting MULTIPLES… others can’t get him to save their lives.

Guess i just got lucky, Arfus dropped for me for the first run of the day, 0 curses on.
I wanna know why theres a 21 mins Q for HH lol

Got mine yesterday, first run of the day, all curses … the fight had dragged on quite a bit longer than usual but people were keeping healthy and we never seemed in any serious danger of failing at any point.
Approaching 400 attemps last year and this and still no dog.Running multiple toons daily; would be nice to do some other things besides HH over and over.
Last year it was said drop rate was too low and would be fixed this year. Don’t remember who but guess they’re no longer employed there…

After running every alt these last couple of events, i finally just got mine (5th run of the day, no curses), we actually wiped due to a druid using tank queue when they weren’t an actual tank, so we kicked him and were in the middle of copping a serve from his mage friend that was obviously using him for the instant pop lol

Keep running, you’ll get it! No curses ran for me, and I finally got it today. Thanks to my army of 15+ DRKs that I levelled to get Heritage Armor that I never deleted (ran as tank for fast queues).
I got Arfus last night, probably ran HH about 5 times this year.
