To be honest, I kind of have the feeling that Arfus only has a chance to drop if the dungeon glitches when it’s loading.

I am having no luck either. No lack last year, I’m running 10 toons a day since the start. I’ve had the mount for years - can’t even remember when I got it, but no Arfus 
Not sure about the dragonriding thing, but I don’t care about it, I just want Arfus!

Finally got the pet this year but still no luck with the drake armor.

Avid collector here, ran all of my toons daily for the last couple of years but no luck, guildy is on her 3rd spare i think

Same… and I am a rescuer irl so dogs are particularly special to me. Well over 250 runs including last year… figure a 5-20 minute queue per run… it’s just not right. It’s a pet, a SEASONAL pet, not a mount.

Pet collecting used to be fun and should not be a grind or pets put in hard content that casual players cannot access, that’s where many collectors fall. The ques for this suck also making it worse, to run my many toons the last few days it has taken me 4 hours, just trying for this pet!!! That is all of my possible play time, so do something BLIZZ!!!, And you wonder why people keep leaving the game.

I have to agree, I have been running this over and over daily, even while at work, and still nothing. Why can’t Blizzard incorporate a bad luck protection based off the more you run, the higher your rate chance increases? This is really disheartening.

Well you added curses for no reason, I mean blizzard stated curses only help with the first kill of the day.

unlike last year, some players have reported they got it on later runs the same day. Didn’t use curses either?
Blizzard added a new wrinkle allowing level 10 alts to also do it this year. I don’t know what else they may have changed accidentally or on purpose. I have not seem info from blizzard abou this current event as to what helps or not. i can’t assume it’s the same as last year.
Unlike other rare items in the game, people don’t need to run this hard so many times in a 2 week time frame. Being able to do it across a whole year is much different.
If i skip this and do all the anniversary content including what is being released soon, I aml SOL until next year. If i don’t, i miss all this new content that blizzard has touted.
I, and others missed the pet and mount last year and some are hundreds of kills into this.

Are we sure the curses increase drop rate? I thought they were just for the achievement.

40+ tries per day since the start of the event, I’m getting tired.
What I’d like to know is if the curses increase drop rate every time, or just the 1st attempt of the day? I’ve been doing a mix of curses on/off, trying one or two curses at a time, depending on how confident I am in the group. Still haven’t seen Arfus.

chiming in on my distaste for the rare pet.
a rare pet is fine if it’s farmable throughout the year. it’s not fine to be rare and limited to a 2 week window once a year.
feels really bad. I suspect I’ll have an arfus sized hole in my pet collection again this year.

It should be on the pet vendor, just like all the other pets. Make it cost double the others so we have to go out and go to each zone getting the buckets for the time sink.

I got arfus after maybe around 6 or 10 goes in the HH dungeon!! Did not know he even existed till then because i didn’t play last Halloween! I also have not touched any of the curses. Up until i found a thread in here i thought it was just a new decoration in the dungeon!!
I got the HH mount a few years back dont really remember. I just run the dungeon now for a bit of XP and the candies since there are a few new items (new to me) on the vendors!

Finally got Arfus to drop after farming on twelve characters, horde and alliance, for two days.
So, now I’m done because I’ve had the mount for three years now and was just needing the pet.
