Modern Questing in retail has map markers, highlights, etc. It doesn’t have the arrow over a person’s head and full step by step automation like an addon but it’s basically a Quest Helper lite. Doesn’t that fall into Ion’s rule of “Things in retail we intentionally took out for Classic”? Thus the Addons that ADD quest automation and quest assistance via arrows, markers, labels, or even steps, should therefore be broken correct? This is no different from the LFG addon that was a lite version of the blizz UI.

Retail questing replaced what Addons used to do.
I only leveled once in Vanilla so can’t speak from experience whether they were there or not, but they were absolutely in Burning Crusade.

These addons were available back in Vanilla, and Blizzard had no problem with them then.

It’s another addon that was in vanilla, but this one was far more widely known. The only addon I might want is one that tells me where a quest is on the map, as I don’t remember at all where a lot of quests are. I don’t actually need nor want a QuestHelper.

You’ll have more fun without those crutches, honestly. Vanilla is meant to be enjoyed without addons
Eh most people went to Thotbot or used addons that did not help play the game for them or try to make finding groups easier and convenient.
Except like, the devs developed the game so we could add to it with addons
We did both, addons are never perfect, and thottbot had info on spawn and drop rates 
Yep I did not need them then and will not need them now to raid, Naxx 40 here I come just to prove it. At least for healing. Something like grid would be nice and all but not needed.
No, because your ability (or lack there of ) to read quest text, does not impact the server’s ability to form a community.
