Arena season 1 started way too early - why week 1 and not week 2?

Seems the arena community as a whole is really annoyed by the fact that we only had one whole week to get ready for season 1.

A week is simply not enough time to prepare for a new arena season after an expansion launch. Especially given the leveling time, queue times, WG bug, etc.

Could this have really not waited until week 2? The only people who are in favor of a week 1 release are people who have a massive gear gap due to the WG bug that they want to take advantage of.

They are completely aware of the gear gap due to the announcement regarding the hotfix earlier for reducing the cost of honor gear. However most of the complaints would go away if they simply pushed arena season 1 to start during week 2.

Yup, should have been on a 3 weeks delay.

I assume phase lengths have already been decided and so delaying arena will make the season shorter, I assume they are pushing towards the lower end for season length to get people out of Naxx and into Ulduar asap.

Weird given the raid launches this Thursday for some reason (cutting out a raid day for guilds who raid Tuesday/Wednesday).

Also in tbc classic they just buff arena points awarded to account for squished season length.

Really don’t think a week would make a difference for overall season length but would make players happier here at start to get their chars ready.

But as you said that’s most likely the reason  they just simply don’t care about pvpers too much.

Likely way too short a duration like TBC arena seasons that created massive issues…

ALL BEKUZ WE NED TO ZUG EZ CONTENT FASTR…

The quickness is odd. especially since they still have qeueues.

lets get arena and raid going this week too. This will probably end really well.

when some haven’t logged in to play much since before sept 26th.

I feel bad for them. me…I am 20K shy of 73. and not caring lol. last night I got my new steam deck so opted to pure pvp level. 20 minutes for AV? Fine with me…I was playing with the steam deck.

those who care more…yeah, say hello to the wrong end of the stick.

cant you… not start playing Day 1? and start when you’re ready? FOMO is strong in here.

You have to queue though and get as high rating as possible because arena points are awarded based on rating. So you can’t delay. You can’t even just grind out 800 arena points like on retail and be done.

Literally forced to be a punching bag for people who have a huge gap over you.

Who cares, you missing a week is not the end of the world. Start doing arena week 2. OMG you don’t have to be first. You can push rating the last 2 weeks of Arena. You will easily get all the gear by then.

I’m amazed how you supposed PVPers don’t even understand how it works. You getting stuck in low rating has NOTHING to do with you missing 1 week of Arena or even multiple.

And fall further behind?
People who are somewhat serious about pvp must queue arena this week or be 1000 arena points behind?
Yeah I got smashed today by some full geared team took advantage of wintergrasp bug, and rating carry over? But what can we do?
If that was me, I’d have taken advantage of it also.
I think the problem is really in how things are being “handled”.
Buggy game and you exploit/take advantage - no worries! Fix them up later!
Get reported for chat? Instant 10 day ban - if you’re not in the wrong, ticket it! Fix it up later!

I think older pvp hasn’t traditionally had a “grind” before you started arena, but the game has evolved into a perpetual min-max. Nobody wants to queue without pre-bis gear because it gives them a perceived even playing field.

Fair enough play the game how you want, I’m personally grinding with my garbage gear. I’ll be behind week 1? Week 2? But by week 3 I’ll be caught up in the “arena gear” like everyone else I guess.

You’re such a blizzard shill. Every post of yours is toxic and disgusting.

Were not a week behind starting week 2. People honor capped in WG multiple times in a single afternoon and then was able to buy deadly pieces. Try using some common sense.

You being 1 or 2 weeks behind means nothing in the scheme of the Arena season. It is just an excuse for you to wave around for not doing well.

WHO CARES… You can buy gear other ways than just arena points. It literally doesn’t matter.

How do you buy deadly off set pieces without arena points?

How do you buy Hatefull gear without arena points??

Stop saying things that are factually false.

The starter blue gear has to be FARMED where as all these other people who did WG reques are fully geared smashing everyone right now.

You’re so dense it hurts

You buy hateful gear with Emblems. You can get the full hateful set without spending any arena points.

Then you spend the arena points you do get on deadly.

You can also get PVP gear from VOA 10/25 man. Also not requiring arena points.

You can even buy the blue set with emblems from heroics.

EZ

I hope you haven’t wasted honor or arena points on bad gear. Oops…

The arena community as a whole? Who are you referring to?

Him and his friends because I’m literally watching the true arena players play arena right now.

They never mentioned being mad at this at all. No good players care.

Just skip this season. Watch as all the people who exploited their gear have to fight amongst themselves for the like, 3 glad spots that will be available due go a complete lack of arena participation

Wow you guys are so doomer it’s hilarious. The season has barely begun and you already are giving up because you can’t be ahead of other people.

This isn’t R14 grind. You can easily catch up in Arena especially in WOTLK with tons of ways to get gear that don’t require Arena points at all.

Yeah, but i cant be bothered dealing with it anymore. If they’re gonna cut arena seasons in half, im not gonna bother wasting time grinding for pvp gear, to play a sub optimal experience early on, just so I can finally play on an even playing field just in time to have to start the whole process over again
