Except the playerbase had no problem with the way the original arena system worked. Why are we trying to fix things that are not broken instead of making an accurate recreation of what the game was like in TBC?

Because it’s modern blizzard we’re dealing with. They can’t accept an old game is better than anything they’re capable of making now.
If they could give good reasons for their changes that would be one thing but blizzard adamantly refuses to communicate with us and they have been woefully out of touch for a long time.

Let’s say they go full on zero changes, this means in S4 most of you will never get PvP weapons of the present season.
A reasonable solution needs to be had to both deal with the arena participation killing season 4 changes and the AFK behavior provided by the S1 and S2 system.
No matter the solution, not everyone will be happy because some want Arena destroyed; and are happy because blizzards changes do exactly that.
