Arena changes in Cata

Does anyone know if they’re gonna add a conquest catch up system in Cata?

Also it would be nice to get some buffs/nerfs to certain specs to change the meta up throughout the xpac. Fighting the same meta comps in wotlk and watching them get stronger and stronger was not that much fun.

in theory i agree, but

  1. it’s supposed to be a recreation of an old game
  2. do you really trust these guys to make good arena changes? they seem apathetic and/or incompetent

sewers walljump took like 8-9 months to fix, they either didnt care, didn’t know how to fix it, or cynically wanted more race-change money. any of these 3 possibilities is a very bad sign

I mean they’ve added QoL catch up mechanics for PvE with titan dungeons, it wouldn’t be hard to add catch up mechanics to cata arena either.

True, just don’t want to see the same comps over and over. I get cata was a little more varied than wotlk at the end, but it would be nice to buff a couple underperforming classes just a little.

they always try this qol changes like sod did and they always end up being terrible, would rather not see they touching it

You’d rather they didn’t add a conquest catch up system?? I get the balancing part, but the catch up system is already in place for retail.

I doubt they do balance changes with an accelerated timeline Cata. On the other hand, and people have been wanting this since TBC launched but especially since Wrath pvp flopped, but one good thing about the pvp community in classic wow is that a LOT of the people who are at the top now were at the top back in the day too. WOW is kinda unique in that its pro players can have 10+ year careers.

Blizzard could literally outsource pvp balance decisions to them and it would be superior to doing basically nothing which is their current approach.

Which classes are underperforming? Every class is viable in Arenas in 4.3.4.

I know at some point in the future there’ll be a seasonal cap that you can catch up to. Which expansion that started in, idk.

MoP was the first xpac with a catch up system. It was also a wonderful feature that every enjoyed.
