Can’t seem to find an answer to this. Is general chat split up by layers in TBC classic? I see people ask in Terokkar a lot for a layer with towers controlled, but I thought everyone was in the same layer if they can talk in general chat.
Don’t know for sure about TBC but if Vanilla Classic was a reference point then it’s safe to say they are all merged.
If you don’t see activity then this could mean your server is:
- Using private discord
- Using private LFG
- Antisocial
- Dead
i remember in general chat had trouble talking to friends or see them till invited to group. but maybe it was a glitch at the time
Maybe so, even /who is borked half the time along with shift click character name.
funny if a toon named borked poped on said " i am borked" lmao
LOL! Actually a good character name
I remember the opposite problem, where we could chat, but couldn’t meet until partied, even if standing on the same spot.
hmm weird. but at least it all worked out. was a lot smoother after layering was over that the plus side of the outcome.
I’m pretty sure chat isn’t effected by layers. LFG is cross layer and so is everything else. They didn’t magically decide to make general chat layer specific. Do you change channels when you swap layers? No. The channel would likely have a number on it if it worked that way.
