Are you sure about the pvp ilvl changes?

If I got this right, you not only removed elite ilvl for weapons, but also nerfed pvp gear ilvl in pve by 13 ilvl or something?

So now people will need 2 sets of armor.

This will not help PvP participation. Instead of thinking of something to combat boosting (and not match 200 ilvl people with 226 ilvl people), you just nerf pvp gear and call it a day.

This is like peak incompetence.

I think they have a dart board with multiple ideas and they just pick a few that get hit with darts

Well I guess we can call ourselves lucky they didn’t hit the “delete pvp” one.

Thats coming in 9.2

Hahaha imagine if in 9.2 you got to meaningfully choose between a PvE and a PvP covenant

D: May as well.

Can’t see anything positive with crushing pvp gear ilvl, now we not only need 2 sets of armor, but also different conduits trees for other specs…

All because they took a shortcut once more, like always. Making a decision that’s easiest to put in, without thinking how bad it is for players.

People complained about PvP being the most effective gearing method for all content, so they nerfed the ilvl in PvE. It’s not a hard idea to understand.

People complained about boosters most of all. Where do you think all those pve players got pvp gear from? They bought boosts.

Hell even popular m+ streamers doing +25s admitted to buying boosts, as they could get max 1800 on their own, if even that much.

So Blizzard takes a shortcut and guts pvp gear, rather than tackle boosting problem and matchmaking high ilvl players with low ilvl players.

well that will keep subs for months

why cant blizz devs just keep the gearing simple? it’s like they just want to stack systems on top of systems for fun

I thought people loved it when you had dedicated PvP gear like the glory days of TBC-WoD?

Bring back resilience.

I started SL early march so I really didn’t know it was a thing. So were PvE people salty about having to gear up in PvP?

Yes. PVP is too varied for them. Game gets scary not having DBM lol.

We’d point in BFA pvp had to spam pve to get gear but they said well that was different lol.

Seems good to me to be honest. 1600 RBG’s takes a night of casual YOLO play - but is full 213 tier gear, which would take you… Months of the vault, or lucky drops + valor upgrades from m15’s. Daily win’s are over 1800 conq (or 2-3 pieces of gear, guaranteed) a week… and that’s if you don’t participate in any other variant of PvP.

Plus for a lot of classes Vers is the highest rated PvE dps stat… and it’s caked excessively into every piece of PvP gear. Which trivializes PvE drops for PvE content, and forces players who don’t enjoy PvP to participate in PvP.

PvP rated gear should not be the premier way to gear up alts for PvE… and that’s coming from the guy with like 6 toons over 1600/213 from yolo RBGs.

When did you last do this? Fighting multiglads doing boosts is hardly “a night of casual YOLO play”.

They did this because they wanted to make sure that elite players wouldn’t have to farm up separate gearsets. They wanted non-elites to have to do that, though.

I don’t know why resilience wasn’t the answer tbh. Yes, you still need 2 sets of gear, but that’s the point. If that’s too inconvenience for you, then don’t do it. Idk what else to say.

why don’t they just add a pvp stat or whatever like they’re asking for? or test it?

I’d say within the last 3 months…

Paladin went 14-1 to 1650~, Warrior went 18-2 to 1700~, Rogue is like 8-1 to 1550 (admittedly, not 1600), Druid went like 16-3 to 1600+… DH Tank (okay, sure, tanking is cheese in RBGs) 17-5 to 1600+… All of them was less than 25 total games, though. Most of them couldn’t lose rating due to disparity, and would gain 150-200 a win.

Really not that difficult if you do any vetting on your groups. You want to do yolos, but you want yolos with the intention to win… If you join a group and see a bunch of 25ks, just leave. It’s a waste of time. Minimum bar for me was nobody under 32k, nobody leeching, no weird comps, and no Rogues that weren’t able to effectively communicate via language barrier.

You also want to try to queue into a group that’s MMR is at least 300 over yours, so you get maximum gains with minimum losses. Doing it on RBG Weekly quest is another big boon, because if you angle to play with players who aren’t being total carry-cases, you can typically crush the 25k-30k yolo groups up to about 1500 with zero difficulty.

people really underestimate this one
i needed a yolo on an alt before reset and i joined a group and the leader wanted to go with no tank, 2 healer, 3 hunters and random way undergeared dps

like solid no lol

Oof, 3 hunters… 1 hunter already raised my “Uhh…”-o-meter to a solid 7.5/10. 3 is beyond critical failure.

Like I guess a BM hunter with camo and double stealth pets to base sit is viable… but… not by much…
