GDKP becomes a vicious circle where you GDKP for Gold to do more GDKP runs to get more Gold to do more GDKP runs… Yada, yada, yada ad nauseam.
Not interested in cope, post a non purple hair tier rant with substance please. You are a grown man, act accordingly and stop rping as a fox news tier boomer.
It would be, but it wouldn’t be an in-game community in the same way pugging in LFG chat would be imo. In-game being what I think they are focused on.
I see your points about PUG discords, I think what this comes down to is the pugging in this case is only happening on that discord. Raid is posted, people on the discord sign up, only time they are in game is to play and log out. I have a few of these servers on disc as well. Maybe it was due to the amount of GDKP being run out of game compared to other runs?
I don’t see GDKP being any more or less social than a SR or MS>OS run. Now something like LC does have more social aspect as does EPGP/DKP when compared to GDKP, SR, etc.
The paid to raid is where I honestly think most of the social structure argument lies. Blizzard wants people to do things because they’re fun and or helpful to a friend/guild member, not because you are paid out for it in the end.
To a certain extent I agree. Had GDKP not been based on gold or had more protections within it’s commnity in regard to illicit gold being used, we may not have come to this point. However, my sticking point with GDKP is that whenever there is a currency based system, people will game it. Which is where the bad actors came in and trashed GDKP’s.
GDKP can entirely be divorced from RMT, etc. It is just too late now imo.
I mean, I don’t know about you but in all the GDKP runs I never really spent gold. I was always the carry, and I took that gold and invested it in my characters, buying raid consumables, boes for alts, or saving it for TBC/WOTLK. I never considered need GDKP gold to spend in GDKPs.
Imagine if blizzard had actually banned gold buyers, but gdkp hurts token sales. They need a limited environment to test tokens without gdkp and blizzard loves gold buyers so here we are.
I’m literally eating a bag of movie theater popcorn that’s been sitting opened in my car center console for the past 2 months. I’m not above spending my work day replying to a bait thread.
You mean like an adult that says devs will lose their jobs because he doesn’t agree with them about video game decisions?
Call more people tourists, loser.
There’s your answer. Now claim people are coping.
Dear diary, it’s been almost a full phase and swipers are still upsetti.
Do you have an MBA? I do. If i came into a company and saw my managers egging on our client base and refusing to let out clients buy a product because “we don’t need that money and we think it’s not good” they would be filling a box by noon that Friday.
This isn’t weird thinking, I very recently finshed schooling. They’re boned.
Oh great, another MBA…
Dude.
Yea it’s a really easy degree to get, hence why they’re runing everything. It’s a masters with none of the work.
it’s really chewy lol
Now that I will whole-heartedly agree with you on.
Are you ok?
Loooooooool.
This isn’t the flex you think it is.
Trust.
If this wasn’t SoD I would say they should then ALSO give players more in game ways to interact. The LFG tool is non-existent and the chat is full of portal sellers so you can’t see anything. This is kind of my big issue. Half thought out solutions with no real support.
No what I mean is that players look at raids as loot boxes. It’s all about clearing as fast as possible with no wipes to get loot and that’s it. There’s nothing more to the raids, and therefor pugs and guild runs all boil down to this. GDKP at least added more incentive to raiders that did not need gear, but it was ultimately still the same goal in the end. Clear for lootbox.
Yea I think ultimately it was always a “Well Blizzard just needs to ban the RMT and deal with the botters thing” and there was an underlying feeling from what little I saw of “Well, as long as Blizzard is letting these bots ruin the server and economy, I’m going to get some benefit of it.”
I mostly did the few GDKPs I did in vanilla Era a few years back, so I can’t say how it is not. But back then there was always a contempt for the buyers we knew were RMT. It was always treated like a cost of doing business kind of thing. And they absolutely tried to exclude them where possible. It’s just hard to fill 40 people normally, much less when looking for buyers.
It’s actually surprisingly good. It was a day I wanted popcorn and I just went into the theater and bought it. I had never really considered getting popcorn without buying movie tickets. Actually going to go get some movie theater nachos tomorrow because they’re really good.
It takes work to stay that drunk for an entire year.
So no
