Are you excited to be able to drop ElvUI or your other UI addons?

Because I am. People go nuts over the new class, the new zones, raids, talents, etc. I just can’t wait to be able to dump this resource pig of an addon.

Nothing I have downloaded comes close to the customization that I’d prefer.

The vanilla changes in DF come close enough that I think I could justify it.

How about you?

I’ve never liked ElvUI but I’ve always used a custom UI and after trying out the changes on the PTR they’re not even close to being good enough to get me to use the default UI.

YES! I’ve used ElvUI for years now. And even though I do enjoy it, and like what it does for my game, I’m am so, so, SO ready to drop it and a few others for the new built in UI and its features. One less thing to update, and a better experience overall for gaming, even after big updates or new releases.

I’ve never stopped using default UI.

Nobody will be dropping anything; temporarily people will evaluate options. But WoW still hasn’t built in DBM and weak auras well enough, and I doubt it will have all the bells and whistles they already have and we expect. I generally do care about items like unit frames and action bars with all the textures and spell effects in range and usage, and use certain “odd” ones like copy and paste and tomtom, and those aren’t there.

WoW is just coming up to a new “adequate” level, and unless the apis are broken, we’ll still want more.

I do want to get rid of ElvUi/TukUi, but still expect to need a better quest manager, and the other vital addons. But if we can remove a few and rewrite them … so be it.

nah. i like elvui. i use WAs for everything though and hide my action bars. dont need to be able to see ur actionbars if u have a WA that tracks cds / important class / spec info

I may test out the new UI changes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I went back to elvui.

Setting up a UI is something I’d rather do once and never mess with it, again.

I’ve never used ElvUI, but I absolutely appreciate that there will be Bagnon, Dominoes, Pitbull(ish) and Move Anything built in.

Edit: Ya I’ll need Weak Auras too for my button DOT timers.

I already pretty much use stock UI, plus a few Weak Aura’s to highlight specific debuffs, as long as those still work I’m pretty pumped.

I was hoping I’d be able to drop the nonstop error generator that is MoveAnything, but the way things are currently on PTR there are a few things that can’t be moved or resized that will force me to continue using it anyway :frowning:

why dont people hide their actionbars and just use a single weak aura for ur class that shows everything u need to see? we really lookin at actionbars that much? i know it’s preference but imo actionbars just clutter

I prefer the look of the default UI over Weak Auras :man_shrugging: even have an addon to create extra actionbars so that I could create a bit of a HUD in the middle of the screen with them to watch cooldowns and procs (programed to auto hide when combat ends). I also have things other that my rotation on my various actionbars, such as mounts, pets, toys, all three Hearthstones, food, augment Rune, flask, potions, etc.

yea it’s effectively the same thing. simplicity is king

The new ui has elements that cannot be moved and only 5 bars. I’m absolutely not dropping Elvui if it stays that way.

And where would I find a weak aura like that? I use some very basic weak aura’s but that’s about it. Any good tutorials you’d recommend?

I don’t understand how anyone could actually like or use the default UI. If I had to use it I would just stop playing.

Looking forward to continue using my addons. The changes to the default UI are nice and long over due. However, they don’t do enough to change my addon use. You can’t even hide an action bar until mouse over.

New UI still doesn’t do what I need the most - action bar paging to be automatic vs having to create a macro and press a key. I need more than one action bar to change based on form (stance), and I don’t think that’s possible still in the beta UI.

If there’s no snap-to-grid for the new UI, it’s gonna be a hard sell for me to use it.

While I have used ElvUI on one toon for a number of years now. I myself never really felt like it gave me that big of an advantage over the stock UI, yes you could make it look and feel the way you wanted it too. But I never felt like I gained an advantage.

With the new UI, I will be removing ElvUI from my add-ons. Besides often than not I found bugs in ElvUI with some of world quest still where it would stick the game. Something you really expect only right after patchs or with less known or used add-ons. The new UI while is different and take a bit to get used to, seems to be a step in the right direction.
