Changing Aug to not buff healers and tanks and to only buff DPS will prevent it from being a must-pick and make it easier to balance without effecting it in raid at all.

How that should work:
Aug buff + 2DPS = ~3DPS

How it works now:
Aug buff + 2DPS = ~3DPS, and the tank and healer get buffed, so much bigger pulls can happen, which increases the effectiveness of the ~3DPS exponentially.

Aug buffing healers and tanks is absolutely broken.

As for VDH, HDH, and Disc, they just need the nerf bat like any other specs that are massively more powerful than their counterparts.

• For HDH thats a simple tuning nob.
• For VDH, it’s probably going to come down to nerfing silence sigil.
• For Disc, the problem with nerfing Disc is always that its a high IQ spec like Arcane, and if you nerf it for the good players its terrible for the bad players. The real answer is to lower the skill cap and then nerf it, but that’s unlikely given the amount of time and care it would require.

“Increase your 4 nearest allies’ primary stat by 10% of your own” could easily be changed to “Increase your 8 nearest allies’ primary stat by 5% of your own” making it do the same in raid content, but less in 5 man. Would something along these lines not fix the problem you are having?

Why would that make it unplayable?

If Aug + 2DPS = ~3DPS … 3 DPS is what you’re supposed to have. Not “3 DPS plus making the tank and healer capable of doing way more than they could before.”

If anything it would be permanently A-tier because it’s increasing whatever the S-tier specs of the season are by some fixed percentage while having a fairly easy rotation that leaves lots of space open for dispells and cc.

Warrior and Hunter are most likely to be declined and I bet it isn’t even really close. Warrior was already lacking a lot of the utility required to be good in M+ then they added Incorp and Afflicted which Warr just doesn’t have a decent way of dealing with either of them so now it’s like 8/12 affix combos that warrior is just unplayable.

Well Aug eovker or evoker as a whole is a new spec/class so they aren’t going to nerf in the current expansion.

They literally nerfed Preservation and Dev multiple times this expac. Huh?

Why wasn’t shadow meta at all in shadowlands despite having PI and mass dispel then?

Every class got their talent trees reworked if you remember.

Priest utility also was disproportionally useful in the last 2 dungeon sets. Mass Dispel, Mass Mind Soothe alone made them worth taking. Mass mind soothe was literally just rogue shroud with ZERO COOLDOWN.

And they are still very very good atm. If they are nerfed the meta would be Preservation/Dev/Aug evoker with maybe spriest(lest season)( or bommy this season) with the meta tank.

Most players don’t care about this content, buddy. That is the point here, we won’t have to grovel for groups to get into content we hate in order to progress.

But the fact remains, if you use delves as your main pillar, you’ll still be behind above average raiders and players who push keys.

So your “progression” comes to a halt a lot faster than the others.

The least represented DPS in DF S1 still had more title representation than the 4th most represented DPS in S2.

Genuinely insane how much worse Aug made the game when it only existed for a couple months.
