Are We Going To Get Fixes to Solo Shuffle Rating/MMR?

To keep it short, it feels terrible winning a Solo Shuffle game (three or more winning rounds out of six) and getting +0 rating and +0 (or negative) MMR. The honor and Conquest is nice, but there is no progression when this happens.

Why does MMR continue to remain deflated, and why are we put into lobbies where winning = no/backwards progression?

Well, if you win exactly three, that shows the game that you are at the right rating so your score should probably not change very much, but I agree that under no circumstance should winning 4 or 5 move your MMR/CR down.

It’s kind of like in chess, you should win 50% of matches against a player of the same rating (and so should they against you).

That actually sounds terrible. But that’s kinda WoW pvp in general. Maybe they have a fix planned for 10.2.

Heh, couple days ago Venruki was in a 2400mmr lobby with a 0cr healer.
Abysmal design.

That’s the only reason i even bother to heal solo shuffles. Once i got my gear i am out and back to random bg’s. But arena is just trash in general and solo shuffle is just as terrible.

Wish we could get the conquest to gear quicker in random bg’s so i never have to touch solo shuffle/arena ever again.

I pretty much 100% disagree at this point especially for healers but also dps in most games. 90% of solo shuffle matches I have played either have one or both of one dps going 6-0( often far higher rated I have seen all dps being 1600 while one is 1750. I have seen all be 1800 with one being 2100. I have seen things like this many times.) and one dps going 0-6. Its difficult to beat the higher rated dps in any rounds and its almost impossible to carry the dps that constantly go 0-6. As a healer I stopped playing because as soon as I hit my MMR it made it impossible to climb anymore and If I mess up at all and get 2 wins instead of 3 I drop 5x more then I would gain even winning 4 games.

Yes, the losses are too punishing and it takes too long to climb back out.

Yeah that’s me at the beginning of a season, I hit like 1450 then stop for good bc losing rating then having to grind more games out sitting in 30 min queues just to get back to where I started sounds like the antithesis of fun.

Are you sure that’s not just your psyche? Losing feels worse than winning and you might ruminate about loss. This is something you’ve been actively tracking and analyzing?

Additionally, you only exchange rating with the other healer. If the other healer just had a bad round and you just had a good round, it is going to be worse for you than expected. But this evens out. If you just had a bad round and the other healer just had a good round, it’s going to be better for you than expected. Or maybe you have established the best case as the norm which is easy to do.

The idea is that with enough games, your opposing healers carry 0-6 dps about as frequently you do.

Based on the speculation that PvP is not a good return on investment and has been ignored by the dev team HERE, I’m going to guess that no fixes to Solo Shuffle Rating/MMR are forthcoming.

I also don’t see anything in the 10.1.7 Patch Notes that suggests a fix like that is coming. The list of PvP Changes is very short.

its OVER
