Are we ever going to get another tank class or spec?

The flavors are so boring now please add another one

If they decide to actually balance the tank specs we get 5 more right there

Give shamans a tank spec. Earthwarder or something, idk

Full context? Those classes are all 9+ years old

I’d say it’s way more important that they balance the specs they have, but some kind of ranged tank would add a lot of variety.

Well, 3 out of the 4 classes added after launch have tank specs. We just rarely get new classes.

I disagree - give players as many tank specs as there are DPS specs …same for healers

Who cares about balance, they’ve never been able to balance so might as well make new tank specs that allow for more diverse and interesting group composition

bruh, but hwy though? most players play DPS because lot of people are scared to try out roles that require a lot of responsibility. when they do, there’s toxicity that a lot of people have no idea how t handle

id lvoe to see another healing role or tank role but i want things to be balanced and actually complete

Never, it doesn’t help

Oh that’s easy; the non-tanks who prioritise inviting fotm over the other specs!

What good are tank specs that no one is going to play because they’re dog water and tanking with them sucks?

We keep adding tanks and tank specs, but it never seems to make any appreciable dent in the constant tank shortages, it’s like the same people bouncing around different types of tanks, but we’re never actually encouraging people that weren’t previously tanks to become tanks lol

People would play them and some might even enjoy them even if they’re worse.

If they’re not meta they’ll probably stop getting invited at a certain level though.

Bit if both I bet. People still play brew because they like it but I expect even more people would play it if it were stronger. There may even be people who would hate-play it if it were #1.

Edit: I don’t think adding a large amount of tanks willy-nilly without regard to balance would be good BTW. But I wouldn’t be opposed to another tank at some point, just not for the sole purpose of beefing up tank player numbers.

That’s partly because a lot of the time tanking just isn’t fun, especially in seasons like this one where you have to rotate every cooldown you have just to survive and most tank damage is bad. It’s also partly because the amount of people you run into while trying to learn how to tank who don’t treat you like scum for trying to learn how to tank instead of just knowing how to tank in every dungeon and every encounter from birth is extremely slim.

I think we need another ranged dps class. Maybe one that’s holy magic focus, or uses ranged weapons like bows/guns. A combination of both would be cool.

Is there lore basis for this? Probably not. But it sounds fun.

Ultimately it comes down to combinations. If you have 25 tank specs, and 25 healer specs and 25 dps specs…you’re going to completely blow the meta out of the water. Sure there might be a grouping of a meta but at least from the tanking perspective it won’t be 1 or 2 tanks that are meta but more like 7 or 8…alot more fun to dance around 8 tank specs if players get bored with one than if they only had 1 or 2 good FOTM

I was massively downvoted on Reddit for saying that Monk is the fastest tank in the game, and that the talent tree says that you’re supposed to leverage your ability for “unpredictable movement”. I mean that’s what the tree actually says…

Keep in mind that I didn’t pull a lot, or roll that much. I wasn’t a crack addict looking to pull the entire room by any means. But DPS players got mad that their cds are getting wasted because I’m moving around a little more than a Blood DK.

To be fair, I guess they’re right. But the talent description for Brewmaster doesn’t really help new players. Kind of annoying.
