I was wondering if I am allowed to use USB foot pedals as addition keys to play WOW. My left hand only has 2 working fingers now so I’m looking for another way to hit a few keys. Another post I was reading said that it would get me banned and others are saying it’s allowed. Can you please tell me if this allowed or not?
It should be fine. You can play wow with multiple input devices. What you can’t do is automate any WoW functions.
One keypress (on any device attached to your computer) has to result in one in-game action. That action can be a macro you built in game, or a simple key press. To do that you build the macro in-game then assign it to your action bar in game. When setting hot keys you assign that in game action bar slot with the macro on it to whatever key or device you want.
Just never ever try to program devices to perform macros or routines you can’t do with in-game tools.
So I can’t say for sure that it is 100% not going to get you in trouble depending on how you use it, but at the core of it that is fine to use a foot pedal, controller, keyboard, mouse, specialized mouse, etc.
You might try the UI and Macros forum to see if they have advice for you over there, as well:
