I was in my usual spot running around the circuit killing bad guys and collecting lute to sell for gold. There is this other player or two who show up and dominate the whole area with , I don’t know what. But these things kill everything that pops up in a large area, and collects the rewards. Doing so fast that no one else even has a chance to get it. This app or what ever it is , program , also increases the respond time 5 times faster than normal. So the monster and even the boss
appears much much faster that normal. No other players have a chance to do their own kill and pick up rewards. I think maybe the player is not even at his computer. These small totem things just kill anything that pops up.
This is more than just cheating but is dominating the game not allowing anyone else a chance to play in the area.
I’m pretty sure there are no third-party programs that are infiltrating the servers to reduce spawn timers.
It sounds like it could be coordinated groups killing mobs in order to force hyperspawns. Usually that is done through 4-person groups that are there in the area to farm the drops from the mobs.
Where are you encountering the groups?
I’m not entirely certain what you are seeing, Twotoes, but as Ekon mentioned, spawn rates, etc… are entirely server side, there is no way for a player to manipulate it.
A lot of areas, especially in BFA and Legion have dynamic spawning, which may be a factor to “respawn faster than normal”. Generally speaking, bots aren’t that quick, and folks that are in the habit of farming a specific area tend to be pretty good at going from point to point in the most efficient way that can seem preternatural.
If you suspect that someone is exploiting, use the right click report option by right clicking on their character portrait and select - Report for: Cheating. That will generate a report to have our teams check it out.
I know what I saw. And it has to be some sort of program. And the spawn rates were increased at lest 5 time faster. And the boss appeared not at his normal time, more than once. OutLand, Hellfire peninsula, Throne of Kiljaeden.
But now he is gone, or They.
I actually stayed in one place and killed one mob over and over and over every 3-4 seconds. That is not normal. Normal is maybe 4 min.
In order for it to be “some sort of program”, they would have to install it on the server. Spawn timers are calculated on the server. Nothing a player can run on their own machine can override it.
Next time, if you see something fishy, just right-click and report for cheating
You are looking at something through a limited view. Like looking at a forest thru a peephole. You are not seeing everything.
Best advice
I think I have their player names. This is only the second time I have seen them.
I didn’t know I could report directly with a right click. Next time I will try this.
In the farming community there are several ways to group farm, either multboxing which is completely ok with Blizz, or groups. Some mobs in the game have to have a certain amount up at all times so if theres one solo player killing a mob one by one you don’t see the hyperspawn, if you have a group of 5 killing everything your going to see them respawn really quickly. They go ham for about 10 mins then loot, rinse repeat. Really good way to farm things like cloth, world drop mounts, essences etc
so, it’s hard to know without some more details, but it sounds like you’re seeing the black ox statue. this ability puts a short little statue on the ground that taunts nearby enemies to it. this is often used in spots where the mobs have dynamic respawns - so someone who can quickly aoe mobs puts it down, it pulls all the mobs nearby, then they aoe them down, and they can get nearly instant respawns. there are a lot of spots where people use this to farm for exp or items.
That does not seem to me a good player friendly way of game play. They kill so fast, dominating the entire area that no one has a chance to do their own kill.
Everyone plays the game for different reasons, some like to pvp, some like to gold farm and play the AH, some like to raid. All forms are valid. If a spot has a lot of people farming in it either move to a different spot or you can try cross realming onto a different shard.
