Are new integrated graphics just as good for WoW as a dedicated graphics cards?

If you are DEAD set on no GPU? Look at amd APU like Ryzen 5 5600G or better

RX 6600 outperforms even the new 8700G, iirc.

WoW isn’t too graphically demanding, but you’ll likely still limp along with even the best APU.

You’d be going down in graphics performance for the benefit of space. Just drop in a 5700X3D in there and you’ll see huge gains imo, if you can work out the space issues.

This is the argument my brother has been using, but I know that raiding, and some world content, can be FPS issues without at least a decent GPU and beefy CPU (well, as beefy as possible)

I want dedicated/discreet GPU, my brother has been pushing the integrated, , hence the one I am getting has the specs of:
CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 7840 HS
GPU RADEON RX 6600M

It is a trial for me, but I do have some hopes as it is claiming vid output of:
HDMI (4k@60hz)
USB4 (8k@60hz)

Thanks all for your help, I was just looking for some more opinions.

Since those are laptop parts just remember that a laptop part will not perform the same as a desktop variant. As long as you are okay with that you should be good to go.

For example a laptop RTX 4090 is NOT really a 4090. It’s more on par with the desktop 4070 super. That was just an example though

If you know what you’re getting into and you’re okay with that then that’s all that matters

I mean, a 6700 XT is plenty for 1440p, for example, sans Ray Tracing on High, or Supersampling.

The problem is that APUs themselves are not particularly powerful CPUs for this game. The X3D chips are the best options for WoW, and there isn’t anything in the APU-side that’s comparable to their performance.

APUs generally have low boost windows to fit their power budget too. Even if the IPC is the same as their desktop counterparts they will hit a power limit relatively early and clock down.
