This is a pretty common thing at the start of every xpac. We don’t see this in the second season because people are pretty well geared with tier gear and such from the previous season. Are the mythics overtuned? Sure a bit but the next couple of weeks people’s gear will be better and they won’t be as hard. Plus I’m sure blizzard will tune down some of the mechanics that are still over tuned if people are still having issues.
This applies to untimed queued content. M+ is another animal entirely. It’s not meant to be timeable with people making mistakes unless they vastly out gear it.
You can still absolutely complete them and get your vault slot, but timing them should always require near perfect play assuming the player doesn’t outgear the key level.
It has gotten a lot more difficult, earlier this week, me and my group barely completed our first Dawnbreaker 0, it was actually a completing experience.
As most are saying, last expansion they made it to where 0s are the equivalents of Old +10s. This way Heroics were played more for gear, and if players just wanted to do 0s, it made sense (I guess). Therefore a 2 is like a 12 and so on. Me and my group were able to get back up to 8s before Dragonflight ended. But, that was after getting Item Level up through world content and LFR.
i mean at least people somewhat need to learn mechs in 0’s now or they will keep dying. before they were like heroic dungeons. free loot pinatas
Using logs to compare increases in damage in season 4 to season 1 shows this. Season 4 DF, going from 2-9 increased damage by 1.83x.
In Season 1 TWW, going from 2-9 increased damage by 2.28x… The feeling that the dungeons are harder is very correct. In fact, going from a 2-6 results in a increase of 1.86x more than going from a 2-9 last season. SO the ol doing a 10 is like doing a 20 in season 3 is really off because season 3 had a really light multiplier. The better analogy would be a 9 last season is the equivalent to a 6 this season. More tidbits, 2-7, 1.96x., 2-8 2.15x., I got these numbers using an ability from trash on a non-fort week corrected for mitigation for various key levels.
You know what else went up? Everyone’s ilvl and health pool. Going from one expansion to the next is like 100 ilvl of difference.
It only feels that way because people are really bad at understanding relativity. People who never timed +15s on week 1 are now complaining about +5s on week 1. You are also comparing Season 4 of DF where most players started the season with the previous season’s BiS trinkets, near max ilvl, and 4-set tier. You should refrain from trying to make inferences if these major variables slipped through your analysis.
In comparison to Season 1 of Shadowlands or Season 1 of Dragonflight, M+ right now is much easier.
