High elves have been playable since 2006.
Wrong. When you make a Void Elf you see both Blood Elves and High Elves there studying to become them. They can be from either group before the transformation. Only the ones that you saw in their unlock quest were all Blood Elves.
Sorry kid, but no. Blood Elves are not High Elves, otherwise theyâd be on the Alliance, where the actual High Elves are.
High elf fan assemblage?
High Elf For Alliance.
Blood Elves changed their name to honor their fallen.
checks notes
Void Elves literally proc purple in combat which a major remaining Helfer request is to change that, why would that be if VEs were as is already High Elves in the way Blood Elves obviously are?
As someone who is a fan of High Elves I play the race w the lore, kingdom, and full aesthetic right down to the racial bonuses.
VEs RP tools are more than enough to RP but that doesnât change what they are.
Blood elves are high elves. Itâs just a name. Like stormwind human, youâre a human. Political affiliation is irrelevant.
Disagree with WC3 all you like, it was in WC3 when it was shown and explained the High Elven race agreed to call themselves the children of the blood (Sinâdorei, Blood Elves) in memory of those killed by Arthas on the attack of Quelâthalas & Silvermoon.
Made up lore to argue is not lore, but as said by Zelestriana, going to just ignore (not forum wise for me anyway) your posts and move on.
void elves are former high elves and blood elvesâŚthey are not high elves
(least not till they have full high elf options/farstrider tatooes like allerria and a way to hide the visual effect of void entropy)
Every void elf is a high elf. Every blood elf is a high elf.
Not all high elves are blood or void elves.
Thatâs how that works.
Why did you mention Ion? I didnât cite him, and would never cite him as an argument for anything anyway because his design model is what gave us this garbage expansion. Furthermore, he didnât even work at Blizzard until the middle of TBC anyway.
The best argument you can make is that Void Elves arenât High Elves anymore because of the extensive void infusion (even though there was no evident speciation so they still are), but Blood Elves are, and have always been, High Elves. Period. âBlood Elfâ is just a theatrical, edgy name that Kaelâthas gave to the High Elven survivors, which I have always found to be one of the stupidest parts of WoW lore by the way. An equivalent scenario would be if most of humanity was wiped out in a mass flood and the survivors renamed themselves âHigh Seas Humansâ. In spite of how absolutely stupid and almost humorous that would be, High Seas Humans would still just be Humans.
Belfs are helfs. Velfs are an abomination. And nelfs⌠well we just donât talk about them.
No this is exactly it. And now that both races can have blue eyes, youâre essentially just choosing between two of the (three?) High Elf Factions available. The ones that allied with the alliance, or those that chose to cast their lot with the horde (the smart ones).
He is usually brought up because in one Q&A when it was asked if High Elves would be playable someday, he made a comment along the lines of âYou already can, if you want to play a fair skinned, blond haired high elf, the Horde is there for youâ (not an exact quote, but close enough)
Which while factually accurate, was a rather crude way of saying it and often used as a decrying battle cry.
Blizzard has on numerous occasions linked Blood Elves as the high elves.
They have also stated that the high elf options recently added for void and blood elves are there for high elf rp reasons.
SoâŚ
Take what you will from both of those things.
I personally think Blizzard sees the blood elves as high elves (which makes sense theyâre literally the same race aside from idealogical differences) and gave void elves the high elf options for folk who wanted to play high elves that didnât leave the Alliance.
I havenât seen them comment much further on it since.
belf and velf are helfs end of story.
Ah yes after the generous treatment OG Blood Elves experienced at the hands of Garithos. Heck it was the last High Elf Prince who renamed us Blood Elves.
Oh and I almost forgot. We considered rejoining the Alliance and the Alliance ambassador, a dwarf, ended up being a spy. Meanwhile Nelves spied on us in both Ghostlands and Eversong, but never lifted a finger to help. I think most of the renamed Helves are a bit over the Alliance.
Not just once, Varian was also in negotiations for them to return the Alliance in Mists as well, until Jainaâs Purge of Dalaran:

Ah thatâs right I had forgotten about that. Basically everytime we work with the Alliance we get bitten. To be fair, Horde has bitten us twice now, but at least we have a say in the Horde.
