Do you pay a sub to join their Discord, then they invite Discord members to the guild in-game?

I remember someone saying it goes against Blizzardās terms, though I donāt know if thatās true. I still use the Discord from time to time and I have no interest in joining their guild. I figure if I want to raid on a set schedule, there are plenty of beginner guilds out there I can hit up or I can join a community.
Also, wasnāt the controversy about WME using the Ibelin documentary about a dead WoW player to sell guild access?
What about having to do an in-person interview, flying across the country, to get in the guild?
