That was my own error, actually. Ive always equated intelligence with the ability to adapt to ones environment, whatever that may be in the moment, which would include being able to behave like an adult where adult behavior is either required, expected or just generally a good idea.

As the clock ticks on I find the line blurs. I could swear my stances haven’t changed but those against my ideals and those for it… the faces seem to shift constantly.
I’ve said it many times before. Yes downvotes should exist. Just make it so that it doesn’t hide the post so that people don’t get brigaded.

Definitely seems to be a terrible set up in here.
The trolling not only affects posters in here, but certainly keeps the mods busier than they need to be.
IF they did it like I do, they could cut down their NEED to even check in here but maybe once every few days.
But evidently we enjoy having to spend hours a day moderating.

No, because it would still end in harassment from specific people/groups who just want to set a sign that your opinion or post is trash.
The current system is better, because it detects which people harass and false flag others and it is logged for automated time outs and bans.

“trolling” is a garbage violation because it defines nothing and is 1000% open to interpretation and thus abusive behavior both by those reporting AND by moderation if they cant be unbiased.
Same with “innappropriate”.
Rules for forums need to be hard as stone, clearly definable…violations of the law …racism…sexism…attacks on a person for how they were born, such as being gay. …that kind of rule is EASILY defined and easily moderated.
As proven by this very forum EVERYTHING is ‘trolling’…EVERYTHING is “innappropriate” when you let your members flag bomb everything so much that moderation gets tired of dealing with it and deletes posts that DONT violate any rule just to not have to deal with it.
Honestly, this forum is WORSE than facebook, twitter and youtube comments combined.
Ive not seen nearly the drama on those notoriously horrible sites that Ive seen here, lol.

most of the time they call posting spamming even if you post different comments entirely if youve responded in one thread they dont like.

Biggest problem with up n downvoting is the people. I generally upvote posts I think are coherent and provide insight or whatever regardless if I actually agree with them or not. But alas, thanks to reddit and social media, people don’t act that way.
Nope down votes will not stop people from being offended by whats posted here.

No. When we had down votes, the false flags were flying like crazy, as well.
It really serves no purpose in a video game discussion forum. Maybe in a DIY forum for like car repairs, or some therapy website… where people are looking specifically for top rated advice.
I think the only thing that would cut down on false flags is punishing people who falsely flag - or giving every account maybe just one flag per week.

Disable up and down votes, useless, missleading, childish, too easy to hijack and addicitive. Remove flagging, same reasons, too powerful and toxic. Facilitate /ignore, it’s like a flag/downvote you manage 100% and it doesn’t impact others.
And give Briselody a good mog, oh my Thrall.

Most likely that would be the case if The forum here doesn’t want to punish the bad behavior.
I was just kind of impressed to see that one of them actually admitted that false flagging is a thing LOL after denying it to me for years now.
Since I don’t want to punish the false flaggers then yeah remove their ability to flag nearly as often.
One of them last night literally is saying that they have x amount of hours left before they can start flagging again meaning they had every intention of doing it again LOL
