They just need to add Drakonids.
Give people their beefy, sexually dimorphic, dragon people with access to tank classes. Easy. Everyone is happy.
Well, maybe not everyone but if the only complaints you are getting are from the more extreme ends, on both sides, chances are you found that perfect middle ground
But but they never got one despite being ahead on total specs until legion. I mean it took 3 more classes and stealing a spec for melee to take the lead.
I love the hustle but man we both know it’s too late for DF at this point, the only way it could happen is if it already did and they just haven’t spoke on it.
It worked for the Vulpera crew. 
My money is on Tuskarr being added to the playable, as they have unique Shaman totems. And if they’re adding one, the foot is in the door for more.
On the flip side, they did also say that there are no current plans for Allied Races. But they’ve been known to outright lie to misdirect if they want to surprise us.

In my honest opinion I think Dracthyr were limited because Blizzard is trying to reach a deadline. I’m sure they will get more classes in the future.
Maybe but I was sure worgen and goblin would have had monks by now.
Lets put that to the test, shall we?
Vanilla:
Tanks=warrior, paladin, druid
Melee DPS-those 3 classes+shaman and rogue
Healers=priest, paladin, druid, shaman
Ranged DPS=those classes but swap paladin for hunter and add Mage and Warlock
totals so far: tanks=3, melee DPS=5, healers=4, ranged DPS=6
BC: no change
Wrath: +1 tank and 1 melee DPS
Totals so far:
tanks=4, Melee DPS=6, healers=4, ranged DPS=6
Cata: no change
MoP:+1 tank, 1 melee DPS and 1 healer
totals so far:
Tanks=5, melee DPS=7. healers=5, ranged DPS=6
WoD: no change
Legion: +1 tank, +2 melee DPS
totals so far: Tanks=6, melee DPS=9, healers=5, ranged DPS-6
DFm so far: +1 healer and +1 ranged DPS
Totals: tanks=6, melee DPS=9, healers=6, ranged DPS=7
I don’t count specs unless the spec enable another role, as otherwise it is more a flavor of the role to me, like a mage can’t spec into a melee or tank role but offers 3 different flavors of ranged DPS.
It might have taken some time for melee to pull ahead spec wise, but from Wrath onward, they were either equal or ahead in the number of classes that could perform that role.
Melee DPS already has a lion’s share of the classes that can perform the role, and Evoker just lessens that lead, who can fault Blizzard for trying to at least balance the roles via class if not spec?

See I said specs not classes so unique-ish playstyles, which meant more playstyle options for ranged. Especially cata forward where specs really became a thing and not just a second talent set. Heck melee have only ever had one class we didn’t spec share with anyone and that’s rogue. Everyone else can heal or tank or ranged.
And I’m not even wanting to add a spec to an evoker I want more classes on the Race and I want them sooner than the Blizzard “later” because if we go to 11.0 with no real news or update then it’s not happening anytime soon.

Which is fine but there is go good reason to lock the race out of being able to preform all 4 roles
oh well evoker can heal/dps they are good
Part of the issue is Dracthyr and Evoker have become conflated with each other, if nothing else they need to decide what powers belong to the race and what ones are evoker only.
if evoker gets brought to other classes it will be done later on.
no need to ahve that all decded right now
Just to make people salty, you know they’re going to show NPC dracthyr (had to retype that stupid name like 3 times to get it right) using abilities that are transparently warrior, rogue, mage, etc abilities; which, of course, will just lead to fervent requests that they be playable.

Dracthyr is the race, evoker the class, evoker might be brought to the other races and Dracthyr will likely get other classes, but evoker will not be brought to other classes
Why doesn’t everyone play all classes?
Oh yeah and I’m going to wave it at every single “but they were asleep” thread like a banner.
Also as it stands we no lore on evoker and even if anything BUT dracthyr can even be them.
