Archon addon is the line we shouldn't cross

They are getting gatekept though lol, duno if you pug, but basically all pugs want full clear history and min purples.

Those pugs that want those minimums are just as bad as the players they think they’re keeping out.

thats a terrible solution. just ban warcraft logs. raids were cleared just fine long before this maggot crap existed

No permission is given to upload those logs to a 3rd party though.

When you make a party of your own you can use whatever arbitrary criteria you want to for inviting. They’re gatekeeping you from their group. You’re not gatekept from doing the content. Your agency and ability to form your own raid is not being stripped from you.

The meta and norms in a MMO affect everyone. To say they don’t is plain stupidity.

The person uploading them is giving their consent. You consented to be logged by joining the party. The person uploading the logs is consenting to the website parsing that data.

You consented whether you want to admit it or not.

You must be a petite russian girl. Because you’re really good at gymnastics.

This has to be a troll there’s no way anyone seriously thinks their gameplay data on a live service game belongs to them

ummm no? why do you want to know about peoples information so bad? its none of your business

When WCL starts posting your home address, phone number, SSN, and name then maybe I’ll agree with you. How much damage your spell did to a boss isn’t private information though. There’s no consent needed, even though you gave it by playing the game.

Please keep the post clean or about the add-on itself, harassing yourselves won’t help with anything.

I enjoyed that.

Like I said a lawyer or good LARPer would be nice. You are an average LARPer

I don’t think this is covered by Dodd Frank… not financial. But I do know that companies are regulated when it comes to data and user privacy. For example I know the ins and outs of the protections provided by Dodd, but I am not certain about how existing privacy laws apply here.

I agree that blizzard has the right to use this data, but I am certain WCL is acting unethical at the least. They cover their A by allowing people to opt out of WCL, but I think that they would need to be proactive about that.

In other words they track people without their permission.

I think blizzard isn’t protecting the OP :man_shrugging: .

I don’t like when a bunch of nerds I don’t know get to track a people without their permission.

If you don’t see a potential problem here then you are just being a good Eichmann

Our two pugs yesterday averaged a 17 parse and an 11 parse for the entire raid. You’re darn right this addon’s needed!!

It tracks activity bro

They are telling people when you are playing wow without your permission

It really is that simple.

I know blizzard technically has this right

WCL does not I am sure—blizzard just ain’t doing anything about it.

Not illegal

But unethical

Tracking consumer habits bro. That has financial value. :joy:

You really don’t get that. It is proprietary information :joy:

I am not talking about the constitution you joke of a human being

This is money. This information has value. And there are rules regulating it.

Please break down for me how WCL data, which is not tied to your person and cannot be linked to any other character, has economic value

Okay, so you are a minor, as you stated.

Did mommy give you permission to go on forums?

You arent smart enough as a minor to understand how those things work.
