really this looks good
I was hyped because I actually want to get to 1800 this season for the transmog set and this helps because I hate PvP, lol.
well i got to 1600 got the 2 set i am done rating, just play some bg for fun lol
What sucks about this, is that Magi’s Spark is still not fixed with Arcane Missiles. It will only echo the first missile hit, and not the rest. It was allegedly fixed back on August 13th, but it only does the echo from Arcane Echo for ~9k a hit, and not the actual hit to copy into Magi’s Spark.
https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Magi%27s_Spark
Which means, if it hits for about 90k, instead of echoing 90k, it’ll echo 45k, and the other spells (blast and barrage) at 50%. Burst will go down, but sustain will feel better with the increased damage to arcane blast and missiles.
Tbh if you are not a fan of arena just do blitz it’s free
I did it as fire in shuffle first day of season bc I’m a masochist
Sets nice but the helm feels off putting for some reason esp on undead
Yeah it was obviously inspired by the Wrath set from Ulduar but they went too over-the-top with it and really heavy on the middle eastern theme like movie!Dalaran. The elite PvP one definitely had the best coloration though.
Ya. Its more arcane mage vibes the elite one. Mythic is fire mage.
Also they are only giving back the damage they took this week with a small buff ontop.
The magi spark nerf one is kinda massive though since thats our kill window. Might just end up feeling like a poor mans frost mage sustain wise. Surge is already obnoxious to get off with the amount of micro in game and its cast time ZZzz
The cast time is truly nuts, like you’re not getting that off unless your target is visually impaired or you have a pocket melee that can stunlock them. It’s fine for PvE but there really needs to be a PvP talent that makes Surge instant cast or something along those lines.
I mean you can fake missiles for a cog send on it, or pull a pet line and surge it.
I rather miss old arcane power and its animation personally.
Still shouldn’t have to jump through so many hoops or clever tricks for a basic burst cooldown.
Mages always having to be creative these days to do basic things. No other class/spec has a tricky requirement to pull the trigger on burst.
Yeah, all of the original classes have at least one or two really outdated mechanics in their toolkit that necessitates this kind of creative approach but mages, and especially Arcane, really have to pull out all the stops. We’re more like circus performers in that regard.
Mage itself is outdated. They keep adding lipstick to a pig and making really overtuned things about it to keep it relevant number wise.
I think if WoW was released tomorrow mage would not play the way it does now nor would any of the 3 specs have any of the abilities they do now.
Each spec basically needs the SV treatment. Delete it and rebuild it.
To me it just feels like blizzard wants to keep most of the original spells and abilities but find the worst possible ways to keep them going and implemented. You end up with this crappy class that squeaks by in toxic and anti fun ways.
Fire PVP is a very good example of this. On a base level in BFA/SL the entire spec was garbage, BEYOND garbage. Nothing was tuned correctly or had any synergy at all. Most talents were DOA and pointless.
What carried it?
An enormous and stupid amount of damage packed into combust and CDR. Outside of it the spec was entirely irrelevant and its sole purpose was to get cross CC and global someone. Take all that nuclear damage away and you see the outdated garbage pile for what it really is.
I think all mage specs are like this to an extent.
