Another user pointed out that the AAG undersea cable is still undergoing repairs and will be back to nornal by 22nd April. The cable runs more than 20,000 kilometers (12,420 miles), connecting Southeast Asia with the U.S., passing through Brunei, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
tbh i have not lag since i woke up at 7am till now
It doesnât make sense because iâm playing Diablo 3 without having a single lag, now iâm sitting at orgrimmar with 500-1,2k ms doing nothing.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider
It shows 2,2k ms from Blizzard hop. Even my arena team mate from US was lagging playing with me with 32ms home and 600ms world.
I donât think AAG was the problem because we just started lagging since last time server restart at 11PM +7 GMT few days ago
Now i canât even enter Diablo 3 as well. This is frustating
Just entered into a Twin Peaks BG: Note I did an AV 20 min before hand with 0 lag. I had been doing world quests with 0 lag.
The moment I enter this BG the lag has creeped up

Once again, the same two areas are the problem.
This is not an issue from my ISP. This is clearly an issue at either a pre-blizzard node or with your servers.
I am currently watching the BG I just finished winning play itself out 5 minutes after the victory.
This is an ongoing issue, affecting MANY oceanic players. There are multiple threads about this. This is extremely poor service and customer support being shown.
2nd test with VPN (TunnelBear). Operation Mechagon. World quests. No lag.
See my earlier MTR reports for comparison.
VPN seems to be a good workaround.

Can you try across multiple dungeons/instances.
Many people reported that dungeons are irregularly problematic. Some are good, some are bad.
Iâve been using VPN the entire day, but still getting mixed results.
World latency seems fine for a awhile, but it is still prone to sudden spikes in instance content capping out at 500ms which isnât as bad as before but still makes the game unplayable with screen freezes for a couple of seconds every once in awhile.
Was just in a raid where everything was working smoothly, wiped on the 3rd boss, and after resetting, latency spiked from 200 - 500+ms.
Forgot to run WINMTR so i have no data to show for it, but will be running more test tonight to get some data on it.
so already spend money to play WoW and now need to spend money to get VPN in order to play? facepalm sorry donât have that much money
Just for reference I play on NA from the UK and usually sit at 90-130 ms on east/west coast servers respectively.
However, when I join a bg/instance that is hosted on OCE by the leader I vary from 250ms to 500ms and sometimes spikes to 1-2k+ which seem like far too much, even considering the distance.
Blizz, can you do something? Reply us with anything other than asking for WinMTR result please (I bet you too have enough evidence/data). You have to do it so everyone will know that you DO something other than reading the thread. I want to remind you that your community builds by smaller communities coming together and when these small communities fell apart, youâll have much more work to be done to get it back.
Canât believe itâs been a week with no response.
Wonder if we will get free game time from this
Results are too inconsistent.
Same dungeon run, using both ISP and VPN connection.

Im seeing way more packet loss on my VPN connection compared to ISP, however ISP gameplay is way worse with world latency at over 700 compared to 300+ for VPN
I tried Expressed VPN. Started with around 200~300ms, but after a min or so it will increase to 500ms.
Over the years, I got used to playing between 200 ~300ms, but anything higher than that it will either be unplayable or at a major disadvantage.
Look at all these new threads with the same issue. Sure would be nice to get an idea of whatâs up and steps being taken to resolve the issue.
Australian player on Wyrmrest Accord here. Using a VPN fixes the routing issue in the open world but the latency spikes back up and stays there after entering an instance. Iâve gotten many a deserter debuff because of it. Hereâs the WinMTR (without VPN) I got:

Another Australian player another problem at the las b24 telia hop onwards.
Fix your dog servers, been unplayable for the past 4 days.
Blizzard support is a joke really.
I provided an update to their earlier suggestion on using a VPN to identify if the issue lay with my ISP. I have done countless tests on this and the WINMTR data I provided to them clearly shows packet loss only occurring once traffic begins to hit their severs, and low and behold this is the response get:
Greetings,
Thank you for being patient patience while we looked into this connectivity issue for you. We received several contacts from players in your region who were having problems when you sent in this ticket. It seems like players being routed through networks around South East Asia and Australia specifically were having problems with routing connections. Playersâ network traffic was being routed by Internet Service Providers to Europe, and then back to the Americas. This caused ongoing high latency and disconnection issues for several hours.
Please note that Blizzard cannot provide any compensation for internet service provider connection errors like this. We know that this has caused problems with your enjoyment of the game, so hopefully there will be no further problems. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us and let us know about these problems. Thanks to players like you we weâre able to identify the root cause of these issues and keep the community better informed.
One thing that may be notable for this problem is that there are currently mass quarantines around the world due to the Coronavirus. As a result, internet infrastructure is strained. More people are working from home, and more people staying home using the internet to do things like stream video, download games, etc. Because the internet itself is struggling all around the globe, many Internet Service Providers are throttling connections to certain services so that important industries can ensure that they have a good connection to their businesses. In other situations, some of the internet providers just donât have enough bandwidth for everybody during peak hours, causing further issues.
If you run into problems like this in the future, the easiest way to test to see if this is the problem youâre having is to try on a different network. What Iâve been recommending to people who have problems like this is to test by installing a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Popular options for this include Tunnelbear, WTFast, and Hotspotshield. If you install a VPN, connect to the VPN, and are able to connect after doing this, then you know that the problem is an Internet Service Provider issue. Unfortunately at this time, thereâs not a lot that Internet Service Providers can do right now - theyâre mostly at their limits. If the VPN works, using it whenever connection issues occur until the quarantines are over.
If you have questions or needed additional help, please let us know.
Like seriously, arenât you even reading whats being lodged in tickets!?
Why are u providing me with the same solution which I have responded to previously saying its not a working solution, and that the fault does not lie with my ISP but somewhere else along the data transfer chain, particular your severs.
Here are 2 MTR reports to compare with VPN and without VPN. Big difference.
The first is with a VPN (over 4 hours-worth), and there was no lag. Instances, open world, etcâŠ

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider
YMMV. But so far, VPN works for me (TunneBear to USA).
Iâm only able try this workaround because I already have a VPN. But thereâs no way Blizz should think that anyone would pay for a VPN as a temporary workaround for this problem. They need to fix it.
