That is not at all what I was saying. I was saying Blizzard only decided to slowly embrace LGBT+ when it became more politically/economically viable to do so. Suffice to say, the US allowing for gay marriage allowed it slowly to change its position because everyone else was slowing changing theirs as well(or at least a big enough majority changed their position).
You do realize this lawsuits is probably going to take years, maybe even a decade or more before this gets resolves? Especially will all the high priced lawyers Activision can buy. I’d also point out it took years as well before the various plaintiffs decided to file a case.
I mean according to what you said multiple times now, if these women just let the dude bros continue to sexually assault them, blizzard would’ve realized on its own, that you can’t touch people without their consent.
Dude, take your foot out of your mouth, admit defeat and take the loss.
Not at all what I said, but if they decided to just go on twitter and not actually get legal council/slowly build up their case they probably would end up not getting to this point at all.
I also envision this parlimentary internal structure to be responsible for dropped plotlines. Those plots just didn’t get the votes, y’know?
I imagine, in Zerde’s parlimentary Blizzard that we have different caucuses. There’s the Story First caucus (very small, no real power), the PVP Balance caucus (only slightly bigger), the M+ caucus (holds a lot of sway, but not enough to get more than one or two new dungeons after release), the Raid caucus (all the power, literally), the Open World caucus (everyone bullies Bob, the only member), the RNG caucus (nobody knows which way they’re voting, not even them), and the Old Content caucus (they were once three seperate caucuses, but the Mounts, Pets and Transmog caucuses merged and now can never decide on anything).
These caucuses have regular knife fights in the back lot of Anaheim. It gets brutal.
Unlike American politics though, you’re not elected to a position. Bobby just assigns you to it. By a fool-proof process involving darts.
To a certain degree, they have already mentioned they do have meetings/discussion about all of these things. And yes, we do know Blizzard has always prioritized gameplay over lore any day of the week. If a certain plotline does get dropped there is probably a gameplay reason for it(ei not being something that they want commit resources to at that moment)
Oh, know what else I bet the Blizzard Parlimentary Government Zerde proposed to exist has?
Frequent interviews. But there aren’t TV interviews. They go up on some internal server, available for employees to watch from their work computers. They have interns doing the interviews, asking questions about the current slate of proposals being voted on. Like:
Intern: “Ion, I’ve heard the Blizzard Congress will be voting today on the latest proposal to redeem Sylvanas. This is the final proposal; if it fails, redemption for Sylvanas will be impossible. Any thoughts?”
Ion: “Hmm, that’s a very interesting question. Let me answer it by talking about Soul Conduits!”
I bet the reason why Zerde’s proposed Blizzard Parliment, the reason why they put together the Community Council without any guidance or structure is because someone attached the Night Elf Soul Reconcilation bill to it. The parliment had already voted on a start date for the CC and planned to vote for guidelines next, but when someone saw someone had snuck night elves into it, they filibustered until everyone agreed to go on a two week break, and remove the night elf bill from the CC guidelines bill.
That was cute a post or two ago, now it’s just passe.
And yet he does not make the lore. He answered ALOT of my tweets back in the day and there were still things he himself had no control over. He couldn’t even tell me if the night elves won Ashenvale.
Correction This was what I asked him:
Oh please please tell us once and for all, who started the CURRENT war, the invasion of the Barrens or invasion of Ashenvale
It’s been asked before and I still haven’t received a official response. Sorry to keep you in suspense!
Now the backstory (or lore) of Zerde’s 100% legitimately proposed parliment within Blizzard HQ is tricky. Like all decisions, the one to create this parliment took generations to make. Change doesn’t happen overnight, y’know? Even the smallest change takes a minimum of 17 years, and you should be grateful for it!
Now I don’t have the time to give you the full details, and they frankly haven’t been voted on yet. But the 50-50 balance of one hundred sixty men and sixty women assure me that when they finally do get around to voting on their lore in 2038, it will include 35% less racism than their last lore.
Just don’t expect no racism; the racism was there at the start of the Blizzard Parliment, and you can’t expect them to get rid of all the racism in their parliment, now can you?
Indeed, what’s the point of having a Warcraft historian on staff if said person has no veto power over story elements conflicting with established lore. Not even on the same work he is credited as being the author on. Does anyone believe Sean did not get to see the final draft ahead of time? Does anyone really believe that?
I am still sort of baffled the author would not have a copy of his own book. How is that possible. Authors always get several pre-release copies. If nothing else they should have a proof copy.
