Appear Offline

Few questions about toggling the “Appear Offline” status from the desktop app with Battle Net.

1.) I will toggle this on every once in a while, when I want to just game in peace, without being ninja invited to a group by someone on my friends list. I was told that even if I appear offline for a little bit of time to myself, people could still see me que up for say a dungeon or a M+ key.

2.) I was also told that even if I appear offline, if someone has me set to a favorite on their list and they have the battle net app on their phone, it’ll show me logging on to play the game.

Can anyone give me some clarifications on what I mentioned in this? I tried Googling both but couldn’t get a straightforward answer. Thanks for any help!

Appear offline only extends to the Battle.Net account. You won’t be visible on the app or in any game that relies solely on Battle.Net for connections, even if set as a favorite.

World of Warcraft does not have this feature. You could appear offline at the account level, but if someone logs into the game at the same time you’re playing, they’ll see that character online.

So what you’re saying is that if they log in, even if their character is on another server, possibly even different faction, they could still see me in the game using group finder?

Yes as the WoW friends list works different than the BNET friends list.
