Appear Offline within WoW

Please make it so I can appear offline within WoW. Battle.net is insufficient for my downlow playing needs. Thanks!

 Spending that downlow time in Goldshire are we?

Nah, just need my co-workers to not be eyeing me while I play when business is slow.

Who are you trying to hide from?

guessing his co-workers also play WoW or he wouldn’t be trying to hide his online status from them?

His coworkers apparently.

It absolutely should exist.

Regardless of why people may use it. Regardless of having ways to tell people you don’t want to play with them. Regardless of this being an MMO.

Appear Offline should be an option. /shrug

Correct!!!

Stop needing to be hidden, you ain’t special.

Play a character your “friends” don’t know about.

i put friends in quotations cuz if you can’t let your so-called friends know that you just wanna vibe alone then maybe they’re not your friends.

theyre your coworkers not your friends. why do you need to hide?

just explain why you’re on and what youre doing and why you don’t wana do whatever theyre doing. it’s not rocket science.

No reason for this not to exist. I agree.

they might tell the boss he’s playing on the job and that can get people in hot water at work. Not all coworkers are kind people, I mean i’ve had ones who’d of gladly sabotage or just generally try to get me fired for a better pay check if they could. As for what my job was back then…I’m not allowed to say so don’t pry please

Why do you need to know everything your friends and guildmates are doing at all times? Thats creepy and weird

Possible stalker level too if they gotta know everything someone does at all times…which is extra creepy and disturbing…possibly scary as well

Kinda impossible since they could legit run into you in the open world

I always appear offline on my launcher, I also have characters on 4 different realms so when i want to avoid a certain group of friends, I play on other realms lol

They kind of also need to be on bnet to track you, so you do always have the option to uno reverse them lol

I had a kid at work that would play Runescape every chance he got, his desk was at the back of the office and faced the door so he always had cover, he was not allowed to have games installed on the office PC but I turned a blind eye as he said he only played during his lunch break.

Yeah, he wasn’t doing a thing all day but play his game, so one weekend I rearranged the office, put his desk next to the main door facing away, so if you walk in he had virtually no time to close his game down before you could see it.

He was not impressed, sadly his performance did not improve and he was eventually let go, shame as he was very polite, smart and generally a nice guy, only thing that I found weird, was that he pronounced melee, ME (as in you and ME) - LEE (as in Bruce LEE), I always corrected him, it never stuck…anyway I saw him last year and I asked him if he was still playing his game, he said yes and he’d also gotten married and his wife played too.

I can 100% understand why folks want to hide when playing, especially if the boss plays games and knows what’s up!

I’ve been in guilds before where I’d often be forced to raid every time I logged on, it got to a point where when I said I didn’t want to raid, another member I knew would whisper me and be like “So and so, wants you to raid tn” and kept pestering me about it. I just want to play the game and do my own thing, man, thank god it doesn’t happen anymore though.
