Yeah, I think people who go, âjust say you donât want to playâ donât deal with this. For me, itâs M+ with my brother and friends because Iâm the only healer. After working full-time and doing school full-time, sometimes I just want to log on and let my brain melt at the Darkmoon Faire.
Usually, me saying no is enough. But the point is, I donât want the conversation to come up to begin with.
Also, one factor I think people donât realize is the way rejection works. If friend A says they donât want to hang out about half the time, but friend B says yes all the time, as human beings we will naturally invite friend A out less over time and may just prefer friend B. Not everyone does this, but I would argue most people do.
The great thing about Appear Offline is that you never have to appear as friend A - if youâre appearing online, you want to play, and youâll maintain your relationships.
I agree! Because I am a frequent visitor od Goldshire and I dont want any judgment! ![]()
if i spent time in goldshire iâd just own it. but then again iâm all about that bloodninja life.
I deleted all my friends from battlenet. They can text me if they want to group up.
95% of my playtime is to relax, like an active meditation. The fourteen âcan you heal a dungeon for meâ requests per day were not worth my time.
My friends think Iâm crazy, and I am. But I enjoy my game time SO MUCH MORE being anonymously online.

Yeah if your boss also plays the game and for some reason knows your character names or has you on their friendâs list and they see you playing at odd hours it can get awkward fast. Some bosses are completely cool with it long as you donât slack at work but then there are some who really shouldnât be told or allowed to learn your character names or added as a friend. Still sounds fairly reasonable to allow people to hide their online status while in game though, people donât need to know everything youâre doing and when after all and if they say they do that kinda comes off as stalker like which is beyond creepy
People playing video games on their employerâs dime deserve to be fired.
