Appeal Wait Time

US109913532 (I’m the same person, but posting on a different bnet)

I received an RMT permaban across most of my licenses and placed an appeal around noonish yesterday. I have not yet heard back and am wondering what the appeal wait time currently is. Of course, it’d also be neat if a blue could share some details with me, but I understand that’s not a guarantee nor an expectation.

Thank you.

Roughly a week, especially if the appeal gets escalated.

Alright, good to know. That’ll make it easier to stop looking at my email repeatedly  . Thank you.

Across more the one license , did you use real info or a fake name? If a fake name that would need fixing if you want this to go your way.

I received the following response:

However, there is no option to re-open the ticket; only “Take Survey” is visible.

When I go to the account restrictions page, it simply has “Penalty Upheld”. Note that this was my first and only appeal ticket.

What’s interesting is that all of my account bans now show as “Penalty Upheld” under “Past penalties,” and “Active penalties” is now empty…

I’m so confused. How do I re-open/reappeal for a deeper look?

If you have been told it’s final- that’s it.

If you are unable to open another appeal, that’s it.

You don’t get to request a deeper, escalated look - that is at the discretion of the investigating GM.

Generally when you reach this point there is overwhelming evidence in the logs that warrant such harsh account action.

You won’t be provided any more information on the infractions, but considering multiple accounts were closed - I’d say you would be quite aware of what you did.

Simply put you do not. You/we do not decide if an appeal is escalated, currently you appear to be on your second, and that is currently the limit. The only other advice/info I can add is did you ever accept ANY gold from anyone for ANY reason? If so you are still guilty of RMT even if you were unaware.

Update: I just checked my accounts again. The bans being moved to the “Past Penalties” section had me curious.

The Account Restrictions page still say “Penalty Upheld” for all of the “Banned” actions, yet all of my bans appear to be reversed and I am able to login :D. I didn’t receive any additional communication about that, but THANK YOU to whoever took care of this.

My next question is: what process do I follow to get those ugly “Banned” marks removed from my account history?

I was jut typing up a reply when you posted.

We had nothing to do with this, as you normally have to submit an appeal through the ticket system for any additional investigation to be done.

First, a little how some of these penalties are applied. Part of what our hacks team does is they work to detect various methods of exploitation (i.e. botting and use of other third party programs), or other methods of cheating. If they figure out how to detect one they don’t usually go after an individual at that time, They will usually wait to do what is called a ban wave. This is multiple accounts, all detected as having used the same program/exploit, etc… within a timeframe. This allows them to have a greater impact because it is harder for the people who make the program to figure out exactly what we detected and when.

However, our hacks team does keep an eye out penalties that go out when they do these ban waves. So, if they find that there is a possible false positive based on the data they are getting back after the ban wave goes out, they investigate further. If a false positive is detected they work to overturn those accounts that are impacted, regardless of if they personally appealed or not.

Your issue was originally upheld because there wasn’t any evidence that was initially found that would have allowed them to overturn it, it still looked valid. However, when the overall false positive was found they worked to fix all those that may have been hit in error.

Sorry for the frustration, Fresh.

As far as I know, you cannot. The way the penalty is applied I don’t believe Customer Support is able to change or remove the notation. It shouldn’t count against you for any future investigation/penalty.

you can submit a ticket and ask for game time compinsation for the time you could not play.

I appreciate the info, although it was refreshing taking a night off and in the end, all of my bans were reversed which was all I wanted!

Have a great weekend everyone.
