Appeal Suspension

I wanted to get anyone else opinion.. maybe even a developer. My friend just got a 2 week suspenssion over a name on his toom which he had for 2 years. Im assuming he beat someone in an Arena and they got tilted and reported it. I had gotten a suspenssion for a week and below was my interaction with the "appeal" team. They may as well remove the option because automatic responce doesnt allow people to appeal nothing.

Hey I'm not sure why I received a suspension for abusive chat? Could I please see what the investigation concluded for this? Thank you

So if I may ask, what is the point of an appeal. If the consumer requests an appeal and is denied any sufficient evidence to support claims against them that would result in a week long suspension, why have the option? The only time I had any interaction with another player in any sort of negative manor, was after a Solo que. After the round, player sent me a message saying I was s*** at this game.. I responded with saying that he did not play well what so ever and to come talk to me when he become duelist as my other classes are there. So that other player intentionally whispered me after the game to verbally attack me doing the complete opposite of -- "these policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players." Has this player received any repercussion for this? Blizzard is a business that makes profit and give its consumers game time to play the games.. As consumers we agree to the Terms and Policies but in that regards, being suspended without actual proof that the player went against the terms and policy is hear say. If I did in fact, make another player feel "un-fun and un-safe" then I will accept my suspension gracefully. If there is no evidence to show me to support the suspension, then will I be reimbursed 7 days of game time or have my suspension lifted? thank you for your understanding

You marked this ticket as Resolved.

Thatā€™s really difficult to read when itā€™s been put into the ā€œcodeā€ scripting.

Is this an appeal you made or your friend? You canā€™t appeal on a friendā€™s behalf, which is what this looks like. Only the player who received an account action can appeal it.

That said, a 2-week-long suspension for a character name would mean, without doubt, that they had previously chosen and been actioned for other inappropriate names.

Account actions will likely continue to double up-to and including an account closure if they cannot figure out how to choose an appropriate character name that doesnā€™t violate the rules.

Appeals are ONLY handled by the ticket system. There are no GMs on the forums.

Doesnā€™t matter why it was reported, or how long theyā€™ve had the name (that just means it probably hadnā€™t been reported until then).

What matters is that it was reviewed by a human Blizzard GM and found to be inappropriate and action was taken with consideration to past account action (penalties stack, they never drop off either).

Never assume, especially when itā€™s not even for your own account that youā€™re playing.

No matter what anyone else has said or done, if a name is against the CoC/ToS, thatā€™s it. Full stop. ā€œFalseā€ reports, mass reports - does not matter. It only matters that per the GM(s) who have looked over your friendā€™s case, heā€™s breaking the rules.

And that if heā€™s at two weeks now? Itā€™s not his first rodeo of bad naming choices and/or chat sanctions. He knows full well whatā€™s going on, whether he agrees or not.
