I’ve been trying to get a suspension on my main account appealed for 3 days now, and can’t find any information online anywhere in regards to how long the estimated wait time is or anything. The closest thing I could find online is just to open a support ticket in-game and allegedly the “ETA” is similar. Did that, got a bot generated response to my ticket just linking me to the troubleshooting page on b-net, which was completely useless btw, in about 4 hours time but I’ve been watching this yellow “Appeal in progress” button for 3 days now just hoping and praying. Any info out here anywhere on how it works?
Apeals are 4 to 5 days i believe and every single respons is 100% genuine real person that uses templates.
Are you speaking from experience… or? How did you figure out the response time? Also the templates only work if the person on the other side of the ticket actually reads my ticket. lol.
Thats what a blue said about a week or 2 ago and despite the rediti karrens gms havent been replaced by bots or ai.
In times of high ticket volume, which is most likely what’s going on right now, there will be an auto-response with common troubleshooting steps. Typically that only happens on certain ticket paths. At the present time, the only way to appeal a penalty would be by going to https://support.blizzard.com/help/restrictions and following the instructions there.
If you’ve already submitted an appeal from the Account Restrictions page, there’s nothing further to do. You’ll get a response via email once the appeal has been worked.
The response you get will be a templated response based on whether the penalty was either:
- Upheld
- Overturned
- Reduced
- Escalated for further review (you can’t request this, it’ll happen if the data needs looked at further by the hacks team)
Also, what was the account action that was applied?
Interesting. Suppose I’ll have to take your word for it, for now.
Just replying since you can’t reply twice in a row without another reply in between ![]()
The action taken was a 7 day suspension on my main account. I was getting griefed by a max level shaman while I was trying to do the quests on my alt (unluckly) inside the daily area and maybe said some mean words to him via PM.
Yeah, that’ll definitely do it. If you’re reported for inappropriate language (mased or clear) or abusive/toxic language, that would be why there’s an account action. It’ll start with a brief silence of one week before going to the suspension stage.
It’s best to just disengage and not say anything. Login to another character for a while and the other player will eventually get bored and leave. Just don’t give them any reason to report you.
So when u responded did u use masked language swear at them etc.
Your only recourse will be to wait on your appeal, though I would temper expectations. If you violated the social rules and the following GM doesn’t disagree with that assessment, that’s all she wrote.
They will generally give an immediate “hey, here are basic self help steps” respose in high ticket times, based on the category. Other than that, it is all done by humans (GMs or hacks team as required).
I def did use a naughty word, which I agree isn’t so nice, but I’m also playing an mmo that’s rated for teens and up (I’m pretty sure.) I find it really frustrating that one crappy human can catch me on a bad day, grief me to anger, and get off while I get suspended. Just super lame imo.
Masked language always been actionable and reportable I will gladly report any masked language toxicity has no place in wow.
two wrongs do not make a right! If they are doing something not so nice like that report them and move on. You see what happens when you send them a foul message! If you did say something like you might have do not hold your breath on your appeal.
The ESRB rating is what Blizzard has to follow. Players are held to different standards via the End User Licence Agreement and the In-game Code of Conduct. Whenever you see inappropriate language (which includes profanity) or encounter toxic chat, please report it using the Right Click > Report feature.
I know it can be frustrating sometimes, but griefing in PvP isn’t an actionable offence. Is it a jerk move? Absolutely! However, in PvP situations like this, there’s a PvP solution. Whether that means asking for help or even just logging into another character for a while.
Technically speaking, discussing account actions is against the Forum Code of Conduct, but some leeway is given in the Customer Support forum since it serves as an information desk so that players can help other players navigate the Customer Support system. All you can really do at this point is just wait on your appeal.
If you report them, and they broke a rule, they will also get actioned.
That said, while often frowned upon, camping a player isn’t against any rules, including griefing. You’re enemies with opposing objectives in that case. Similarly, taking quest objectives isn’t griefing either, again having goals that put you in competition. Since you said “daily area” I presume you’re referring to one or both of these occurances.
I don’t PvP, nor do I play on a PvP server. It was a max level of the same faction deliberately following me mob pack to mob pack taking my mob tags for a straight 7-8 minutes. I asked him to leave me alone twice before hearthing, whispering him, and logging off. You guys can call me the villain, that’s fine. My ban may not get appealed either, that’s fine. But, I know that no one is gonna take action against that sort of thing so I’m the only one getting in any sort of trouble. Super lame in my honest opinion, but it is what it is. This isn’t why I opened this thread, I just wanted info on the appeal button.
To be clear, this depends on the specific action. Sabotage of your own team (including queueing up and afking) is against the rules and has resulted in account actions. Farming the opposing team, of course, is fine.
The ESRB rating is for the game content the Devs make, not for player created content (names and chat). Player content has to follow the game company rules and for Blizzard it is very family friendly for all their games. They have never allowed profanity, masked profanity, slurs, hateful speech, etc. If you get reported, and if the game logs show the rules were broken, the GM will penalize the account.
They don’t care WHY someone did it. Just that the logs show the rules were broken. Never let yourself get baited into saying something you should not.
Oh id say teh report system is working people get actioned for botting afk in bg and in ur case language all the time and come here thats why theres a apeal systerm most mmo dont let u even do that.
