Read an article saying that they are retiring the app when the pre patch starts, wasnt on Wowhead it was pcgamer i think.

Note that the app above is the WoW-specific app (with access to mission tables and such).
The Battle.net mobile app with the included authenticator is not what’s being discontinued.
yah, and you can at the least chat with your friend list with it
