API Throttling

Dear Blizzard,

You can kindly go eff yourself. This is the third time in two days Auctioneer or TSM has mis-listed something because of your throttling.

Routine bullcrap like this is why I will be unsubbing after WotLK

dont use them problem solved … these types of addons are just not good they should be coded better so they dont bombard the server with requests …

Ok so I just wont use the AH then
Because without them its pretty unusable

I’ve been using the vanilla AH since classic launched. No, its not very user friendly, but it functions. Those addons put massive strain on the AH, and they’re annoying to use.

They’re extremely easy to use. If you use the normal AH, there’s no effect on play. Market manipulators will always use tools to do so. These tools are the way to combat them effectively.

If they are such a strain on the server, then actually build a tool in the WOW to use a huge component of their own game

Get rid of all AH add ons. Without people to manipulate the markets with addons, the AH would be so much better off.

How is it unusable?

The market manipulators are there with or without the tools. Until Blizzard actually makes the AH UI user friendly, not having tools only tilts the balance toward market manipulators

You’re acting like the AH is the main game. Its not

Manually posting? Buddy, I list a couple hundred auctions a week. I don’t want to manually type out undercut prices a couple hundred times to make gold during one of the best times during an xpac

I still don’t understand how it’s unusable ???

I just stated, its impractical to use if you actually use the AH to make gold without TSM, Auctioneer, etc

oh ok gotcha … you can still use it you just chose to take all the guess work out. Which is fine the problem is how they function. Thats the problem.

So you feel it’s a time contraint to have to figure it out yourself?

I have no disagreement that they may be causing strain on server load. However, Blizzard needs to address it by tackling the long overdue AH overhaul. Apparently, the retail functions nicely and they ought to have been working on that since TBC launched

Perhaps but they would have to probably code it from scratch … retail and classic are 2 different monsters.

No, its literally hundreds of more clicks and manually writing out prices that leads to increased chances for human error.

There it is. I thought this was the culprit. As far as the other i’ve never written out prices … i lookup what im selling and base what i sell it for on whats there … i dont write anything down?

Edit: Unless you’re looking for prime time to sell for higher value … ive always simply done this on raid nights … always make bank on raid nights.

Manually entering prices to list…

cry me a river lol
