AOTC at present is simply a ‘kill endboss’ kinda deal. That’s neat, but who really cares? It doesn’t show you’ve actually done the raid, it shows you had ~150k gold and were willing to spend it, or that you had friends who were nice enough to carry you.
I propose we make AOTC a full raid clear achievement. Leave the mount drop as it is for the endboss, give it its own separate kill achievement, and we can use AOTC as proof of full raid completion and as a viable metric.
Lets go one step further. In order to get AOTC, you have to get the killing blow on the bosses. While standing on one leg and spinning COUNTER clockwise. Also, whistling the Star Spangled Banner and juggling bald eagles.
I don’t personally have a problem with AOTC requiring a full clear, but “It doesn’t show you’ve actually done the raid, it shows you had ~150k gold and were willing to spend it, or that you had friends who were nice enough to carry you.”
would still apply
the achievement itself doesn’t really mean much of anything, whether it was one boss or 12.
…it means they killed Nyalotha. One can therefore presume they’ve done the raid in its entirety if not some/most of it.
If you’re concerned about people cheesing it, you know you can always vet applicants via Armory if there isn’t some addon already that exports Armory info.
I’m not too concerned about people cheesing it. As Anna said there are countless ways to do so. I just want the achieve to mean more without taking away mounts from people who get help from friends or mythic guilds offering carries.
If you think I’m gatekeeping you should ask the 7 people in my POK community that I’ve helped get their AOTCs at zero cost despite most of them having poor performance on several encounters
My guild progresses and we get AotC together, as a “we aren’t bad but sometimes we win by making two mistakes that cancel each other out” group.
Do i care even a little if Brad got his AotC by buying it? No I do not. If I’m screening that hard for my pug, I probably have all kinds of relevant info ready at my fingertips (like one of those progress tracking sites, does IO search M+ only or raids too? But something like that).
