AOE Cap. Please revert

So is blizzard just going to stick to their guns on the AOE cap and dungeon nerfs? I used to 2 account level my own characters through dungeons with 2 monitors what the hell is wrong with that? Is it because I’m not paying for a boost lol? We’ve already found ways around the nerfs just revert the stupid bandage fix you made and be done with it I was so excited to play mage and you completely gutted the utility of this class in dungeons. You’ve always been able to infinite slow with blizzard it was no different back in 2008-2010 of course people are better at the game now but who cares. If you’re going to ruin the game why even release classic in the first place no matter how many times we said “No changes” you just can’t help yourself and even added a boost LOL.

Also this is only really affecting SM and mara ect the most so just revert this change please so I can level my characters in peace.

They got rid of mage aoe cap because of how rampant boosting got. I always thought mage boosting was a cool feature of the game. Until the lfg became a swap meet and it was all sellers spamming 24/7. In classic vanilla it felt way more in control, you had to find that guy that did sm runs at a specific time of day and he might be full. By the end of tbc it was just gross. As someone who used to mage farm zf graves i feel for you, but i do believe it was probably for the greater good.

AOE caps were in the original game, so thats not going away. The dungeon nerfs do need a rework though, or just only leave in the xp penalty (and increase the level difference required for it to take effect, imo)

This is a case where the degeneracy of a select group of players ruined it for the rest of us, at least imo.

It sucks, but when LFG is spammed with nothing but sellers instead of legitimate group advertisements, something has to be done.

Yes, but the xp penalty needs adjustment too, you shouldn’t be punished for helping friends. A level 70 shouldn’t make people get no xp in Blood Furnace.

This would be better than what we got… Still a level 58 skeleton not being able to be stunned or slowed in dungeons is pretty funny and really dumb. The game was always this way they just nerfed the cc/utility of every class and the XP in dungeons.

I acknowledged this as well.

The most obnoxious part is the snare immunity applying even when no one is significantly higher level than the mobs, so you can’t even kite effectively as a low level.

Just so I cite myself here:

They broke that to prevent mages from boosting themselves methinks. Like the ZF boost.

everything dies instantly

what do you need to kite when doing dungeons properly

gaslighting bollocks

you all just want to cheat and aoe dungeons for boosting and gold

just tell the truth

Self-boosting typically required a good amount of skill, didn’t it? A single screw up and you mega die. Nice to know thats not allowed.

Why not just nerf the high level dungeons like Strath… not low level so bots can’t farm gold right? Nope. They want that free boost money come Wrath. They even said the gold farming was mostly the problem not the leveling part but they nerfed literally everything instead of going dungeon by dungeon. Super lazy fix and I will be very sad if it makes it into wrath.

It wasn’t SUPER skillful, once you figured it out it was pretty easy to do.

Or at least we thought it was over here, maybe we’re just better than the avg player lol… it was just jumping back and forth on a wall.

Bots don’t even need to buy the boost, they can start at 55 with a new dk with no requirements on every account. It’ll still be enough for what they want.

required cheating with pathing exploits

og blizz would have banned ppl doing this

No pathing bugs here. I hope I can link here this was from classic by me.

I almost died as well. And yea this took like a 10-20 wipes before I got it down…

Hate to break it to you, but these weren’t new to classic, people did these things back in “og blizzard” days.

Exploiting bad mob pathing has always been a thing. Now we exploit the mob “pop”

WoW hobbs did this… It was always a part of classic right? So…

yes cheaters got away with cheating because blizz didn’t know

there’s always criminals that get away with it
