I was never a mount chaser and the stories of the super low drop rate always turned me off. if it drops when i do stuff it drops, i am not making an army of alts to chase it.

This was definitely the case before, but they specifically reworded the tooltip on the item now and said rewording heavily implies that you cannot get anything after the first one per account per day.

The original or the new one? Does the original still drop?
“Only the first attempt on a single Battle.net account will be eligible to receive the item drop, however. For each subsequent daily attempt on the boss with a single Battle.net account, the chance for the item to drop will increase and continue to accumulate for each failed attempt.”
So don’t bother after your first try for the day.
Horrible that they use wowhead for a source when any time a player uses it for support or evidence the blue will respond with “wowhead is a 3rd party site not sponsored by blizzard”

I’m glad there’s been confirmation from a GM.
However, the fact that the GM directed the player to Wowhead is ridiculous to me. Wowhead is a great resource and I’m glad we have it. But it should not be the way Blizzard communicates with us. They should have made an official post right here on their own forums with the clarification.

I just got clarification that it CAN drop from alts. So that is two different responses from GM. I don’t know what to believe at this point but I’ll keep trying on my alts until I hear otherwise. This took about 5 return tickets to get a straight answer.

Nope, I hate it too. Looks flipping silly. My X-53 Touring Rocket 2-seater is just fine. Or either of my ENG rocket mounts.
I appreciate there are people who don’t care for the love rocket, but this thread was created to get clarification around the mount drop rate.

Wasn’t really aimed at you. I was talking to Bread <3 Drop rate is one chance per day per 70+ character. Like every other holiday boss that drops a loot box.
well now it seems even level 10s can get the purple box as well i did it on a new level 10 allied race

I just like doing the holiday dungeons. Has nothing to do with using up time–though playing the game itself kind of does fall into that category no matter what you choose to do in it. (I’ve had the mount for a while now, long before they changed the name.)
