We already know they are going to play WM/Destro/Fire or Frost, wait for 40%+ dampening and slowly whittle their opponents down. They are clearly the best team at it but it is insanely boring and unfun to watch.

They don’t wait for dampening, the only option their opponents have against mage/lock is to wait for dampening because if you try to fight mage/lock you will lose.

No. I enjoyed watching the entire tournament. I think all these players are exceptional players. Personally I wanted SS gaming to win. I felt that they really played some clever games. They worked really hard for the wins they did get. it was exciting to watch. It was fun watching SS play.
Grats to C9 on the win though.

I think it should speak volumes to Blizzard that C9 has arguably the best multi classer in the game in Snutz on their roster and he rides the bench most of the time because mage lock can get the job done in a majority of their match ups
I wish locks couldn’t literally just sit in the middle of the arena and fear/CB spam.
I’m kinda okay with watching lock/melee even though lock is lame af but lock/mage is the most boring garbage. Was there even a single game this cup that went without a mage, lock, and/or sin rogue?
I’m going to be absolutely baffled if they don’t whip out some hotfix nerfs this week.
No point in even watching the awc cause you already know who’s gonna win lol it’s like watching the Han Solo movie and being shocked Han and Chewie didn’t die

I haven’t watched one of their series since the first tournament. Too boring to watch, nothing happens for 10 minutes.

suprsingly there were a few 6-7 minute games and they were on the edge of your seat pretty much the entire time.
None including Cloud9 though.
I don’t support esports so I never watch it to begin with.
I was confused on why C9 would continue mage/lock when they were basically locked in as the number 1 seed. They should have been trying out other comps and treated this cup as practice
On another note… Does anyone feel like Loony and Kubzy are on different levels in comparison to everyone else?
Practice for them is also practice for the other teams against them. No reason to give that away unnecessarily.
People can try to relate c9 success to mlx, but the fact is they are just insane at it. Mlx is not the best comp but they make it seem that way. If you took a step back and looked you would see no one else has this kind of success with it on either region. Also the reason games are so damp isn’t because they’re dampeners. The other teams just choose not to play the game which is a hard counter to mage lock or play a hard matchup for the comp like ele/x
